I have been on propecia for 5 months and my hair is still thinning. Should I have stopped thinning buy now?

they say to wait at least 6 months. Give it more like 9 or 10 and see how things are (since you've already come this far). If it continues to thin, it may not be helping. Save your money . Of course, there have been a few posts about people losing more hair on propecia. But how do you prove something like that? You cant

If you don't want to use minoxidil use at least Nizoral shampoo (1% or 2%) once every three days. It's a mild growth stimulant and anti-inflammatory.

Nizoral is cheap man, just get it at walgreens or any drug store. And leave it on your scalp for 5 minutes before you rinse it out.

I'd wait a year. I just finished month 5 and I am still thinning. I'm riding it out to next June.

I picked 120ml of Nizoral (2%) at Pharmasave in Toronto for $10 CDN. It should last a few months considering I only cycle it in once every 3 days. Most people say not to use a conditioner on days that you use Nizoral.

Not sure about a shedding phase, but I do notice a lot more hairs on my hands in the shower when I use Nizoral. But I also noticed this a couple years ago when I used 1% Nizoral to control dandruff and didn't have thinning issues back then.

Interesting. I haven't seen one in any of the stores that I've been too. You'd think it would be beside the shampoo.
