propecia, proscar, generics, and FSA account questions

I have a legit prescription for propecia. Of course, it's not covered by insurance.

My doctor wrote it for the propak (90 pills/1 mg) and told me to shop around. The best price for a legit filled prescription I found was US$140 for a 90 day supply--and I couldn't believe how prices varied from $140 - $190 for the same thing.

I've been reading about the generic supplies on here and dividing proscar into 4ths with a pill cutter. My doctor told me that my insurance company would question a proscar prescription for a 28 yr old, so I couldn't do a cheaper co-pay.

Looks like it would be a lot cheaper to buy proscar over the internet and divide it. I am concerned about placebo pills and want to make sure I get the real deal.

For now I've got the 90 day supply of the real thing.

If anyone has an FSA account through their employer, have you had success at getting a propecia prescription reimbursed? I didn't see it as an exclusion like it is on the insurance pharmacy plan, but FSA lists a lot of other cosmetic stuff as excluded.

I guess I'll try. If I can get it reimbursed, it will take the cost down to about $98 for a 3-month legit supply of propecia, with no worries about if I'm getting real deal or not.
