Can anyone who has seen body hair reduction after taking any drugs/herbs such as Propecia or Proscar or Avodart or spironolactone or Saw Palmetto or Flutamide or.. !!! ...describe their experiences in detail please.

How long after taking the medication did you notice a reduction in body hair? What areas of the body became less hairy? Was there an order in which you noticed the body hair reduction (e.g., back first, followed by chest, followed by beard etc...). How can you be sure that one of these drugs led to a reduction in body hair if you are taking a combination or cocktail of drugs? Did you also see an improvement in scalp hair? A reduction in libido? Gyno?

Thanks a lot to anyone who responds. Please don't respond if you saw no reduction in body hair as I know thats generally the case.

re:

I have experienced what I consider a huge reduction in body hair, as I am a hairy beast to begin with. I did not focus on timing so I cannot say for sure, but i feel as if the reduction just slowly occurred over my entire body. My chest, legs and facial hair really thinned out as the density decreased drastically. I have a little back hair in which 95% disappeared. I have had occasional labido drops and semen volume change. My hair initially dropped off and now i am about back to baseline but I feel like my hair is much stronger and certainly much darker.
I asked about cody hair a few months back (do a search) and basically a huge majority reported no change in body hair or a slight reduction. Increases or a huge reduction was very rare if i remeember.
I have been on finasteride for about 14 months and I have been concerned that my body hair reduction is an idicator that I could get gyno so I reduced my dosage from 1/4 proscar to 1/5 proscar but it is too early to tell what the results will be from the smaller dosage.

After several months on Propecia, I noticed that my body hair grew back a lot slower and much thinner... Wasn't a problem for me...

Now on MSM and Avodart, it looks like my body hair is about as thick as it was before...

on avodart the individual body hairs were thinner and less pigmented. beard grew back a lot slower also. now on propecia and oddly enough facial hair growing back even slower than on avodart. no change body hair wise, but its easier to judge the facial hair growth speed. shaving an all

Johnny did you see any reduction in ear and nose hair too if you had any? I am starting to get hair in those areas and it sucks! Approximately how long after starting to take Proscar did you see body hair reduction?

Can you tell me the exact place you get the Proscar from and how you cut it?

Much appreciated!

Aplunk, by saying "body hair grew back slower" I assume you shave it in order to notice this?

So now I got to decide between Propecia or Proscar or spironolactone since the body hair bugs me a lot! I tried Avodart for 6 months or so and got no resuts in scalp hair or body hair (reduction).

I use clippers to keep in short. The frequency of clipping was cut short by several weeks. I guess DHT had a profound affect on my body hair development. (I have lots of body hair-- I'm Irish... unfortunately, lol.)

I was on Propecia for seven months last year, and I had a drastic loss of body hair. My arms and hands have always been very hairy, and I almost had hardly any there for a while. I stopped taking Propecia because of a long-term shed that would not end combined with a severe libido drop.
I honestly think that people take Propecia too lightly, and that these hormonal changes will prove to be harmful to certain individuals in the long term. I have no doubt that if I continued Propecia I would have lost a great deal of the sexual function that every man on here should cherish, not blindly jeopardize for a few more years of balding hair.

re:

I bite off approximately 1/4 proscar every morning, just last week I changed to 1/5 to reduce sides. Proscar and propecia are the same just different dosages.
I am somewhat young (27) but my genetic history not only gave me male pattern baldness but also lots of body hair. (As a side note to our weird society that is obsessed with appearance, in the 70s a hairy man was "sexy" (Burt Reynolds types) now many of these vain, useless and pathetic *** biotches would see my hairy *** chest and say "ooo that's like totally gross"? I digress...)
As stated, I have had a drastic change in body hair from finasteride. I began to notice the change at abut the four month mark and things continue to reduce (on my body as my head hair has improved since about the 10 months mark).
My body hair is dark and was basically everywhere on my body before finasteride. Now I have almost no back hair, very thin shoulder hair, my beard, pubic region and chest has all thinned out and the hairs seemed to have lightened up. I have never focused on my nose or ears to determine any changes as I did not have much hair there to begin with. To much detail? Sorry.
I actually saw on a anther discussion forum that there are actually men who are taking finasteride and/or dutasteride to combat body hair. This is dangerous and an example of how societies vanity is f*****g with guys heads.
Anyways, I may be going insane, but I sort of feel like I either had too much testosterone or plenty to spare as before finasteride I was a sexually nutcase who was horny 24/7. I mean not many men are both balding and covered in hair so there was clearly something that was different about my body chemistry. finasteride has reduced my labido a bit which sort of let me relax as, before finasteride, I really could not stop thinking about doing very dirty things to almost every woman I met. finasteride has reduced my body hair (which was embarressing with women) and improved my head hair, I am just afraid of gyno or long term effects. Hopefully things will be fine.
If you are interested in a DHT blocker, i would choose finasteride because dutasteride has not been proven safe for male pattern baldness.

girls say they don't like chest hair but in the end they all change their mind.

Not true at all.

Yes, in my observations I must also politely shoot down your theory. Most people who are balding (especially at a young age) are hairy bastards.

re:

I am not really sure what my point is other then to say that I do think that men like me, who are naturally balding, hairy and horney as all hell MAY have higher levels of testosterone and therefore are at less risk with a drug like finasteride which may reduce testosterone developement in the body. This is purely a theory so no one freakout. I just find it interesting that finasteride use seems to be taking me out of the smaller group of europeans who are balding and hairy in their mid twenties to the larger group who is not balding and just a little hairy. The interesting question is whether either group is better equiped in life or whether things like hairyness are purely astetic and have no relation to brain function and body chemistry. I often read that some social scientists (through research and lab results) have concluded that hairy guys have higher testosterone levels and tend to be "leaders" who often make a very good wage. I am bias of course and every individual case is different as there are plenty of hairy bums and smooth skinned CEOs.
This is all so speculative, I think it would have been better if I just kept my comments to myself but sometimes I get bored.

Johnny thats exactly how I think too and I also 27 -- weird huh?! And I even read an article that said hairy guys tend to be very intelligent!

Anyway, I need advice on whether I should start Proscar or
Propecia or Fincar and where to buy these drugs from cheapest. Also, where do you buy a pill cutter from for Proscar?

I hope to eat least get rid of my recently sprouting ear hair and back hair as well as reduction everywhere else.

Johnny, so are you still seeing body hair reduction? Avodart might be even more effective for you by the way.

Where do you guys get cheap Proscar or Propecia from and do you just bite Proscar into 4ths/5ths or cut it with a pill cutter?
