IF i do in fact have Telogen Effluvium like the Doctor said, if i start taking Propecia and do so for 6 months would it hurt ???

I sincerely doubt it since it isn't related to DHT. Minoxidil can help to promote the regrowth that is supposed to occur once the problem causing the Telogen Effluvium is resolved (poor diet, stress, medication, etc.).

In fact thats the exect same question I asked my Doctor. His answer was, no it won’t hurt. In fact it might help you, as if u are under lots stress, your body produce more testosterone which in turn convert to DHT.

Well, I am on propecia for one month and I think its too soon to say if its doing any good or bad to my hair, but as long as it doesn’t make my hair worse I am happy. However, soon I am going to get a second opinon about the cause of my hairloss because sometimes its difficult to diagnose between Telogen Effluvium and male pattern baldness

Are u serious? Is there anything called "Propecia Telogen Effluvium"? why my Doctor didn't tell me anything about it then? Do u know where can i get more info about that?

Thats the job of minoxidil.

I think a lot of doctors get diffuse thinning and Telogen Effluvium mixed up. Doctors and derms have many other things to worry about that hairloss and do not spend much time learning the subject. Why? Because insurance does not pay for male pattern baldness treatments, it is an unprofitable aspect of medicine.

cassian i think the picture you showed is a sever case... Diffuse thinning can be Telogen Effluvium,A hair speciaist at UCLA told me i have Telogen Effluvium... i dont know if hes right but he is a professional that only deals with hairloss..So .and Telogen Effluvium doesnt fall out in patches such as the pictures shows its normally Genrelized thinning..

Don't feel sorry for him because at least he has some hope to regain his hair back (if its Telogen Effluvium).

By the way, not all Telogen Effluvium end up like this, if thats what u (Cassin) are trying to prove.
