I was feeling fine for the first 5 months on propecia and minoxidil, and then everything went terribly wrong..

The main reason I'm writing this forum is for the side effects I had with Propecia. I would recommend no one starting on 1.25MG of propecia a day. I suffered mant side effects at the 6 month mark, and had to stop completely.. I know everyone is different... But the side effects I got were lower libido, depression, breathing difficulties, sexual dysfunction, can't think as fast as before on the medication, brain fog, and seem to not have a good memory as before..

I'm still recovering now.. Still feel depressed at times, low libido and it's been over 1 month completely of it.. I hope it's not permenant? I used to have so much more enthusiam.. I wouldn't write this stuff if it didn't happen.. I'd just say to anyone.. be very careful, and definitely start on a much lower dose of propecia.. like .2MG I still couldn't take that much..

I had blood rushing around my head also which I thought I was going to faint.. Maybe this was from minoxidil..

Minoxidil I was using for the same time as propecia, 6 months.. Twice a day.. After the 5-6 month mark I got really really sore eyes.. Took a few weeks to go away. I would say to anyone use it a lot less then twice a day..

People have to realise there are a lot of chemicals in these drugs, and there is just not enough warning signs out there..

I'm still recovering from feeling depressed and a low libido at the 8 month mark... I just hope that these subside... Anyone got an idea? As our bodies continue to produce DHT>..? Permenant damage?

Nizoral, is great and I still use it.

And one more time, pleaseeeeeeeeee be careful.. Don't ruin your life, your brain and mind and hormones are much more important then your hair on your head.. I don't think enough people report on this forum who have had bad experiences, and my feelings go out to those people.

At the current time my hair is still ok, im squeezing ginger and capsicum onto my scalp, taking ginger orally which seems to be helping..

Thanks for the warning. Good post.
That is why I refuse to take finasteride/dutasteride. I'm not a fan of altering hormones. I also had some mild side effect from minoxidil for around a week or so. I was simply using too much. I had dizziness and headaches but it slowly faded out. I also think that my body had to adjust to minoxidil. Now everything seems to be fine.

When it comes to your sides from finasteride. It may take a long time before you will feel fine. It won't be permanent.
Try using topical spironolactone+revivogen+nizoral

Sorry to hear about your experience. I've been on finasteride (propecia) for 2 years now and have experienced absolutely no side effects at all, might as well be taking a sugar pill. And it has totally stopped my hair loss for now. Just goes to show everyone's different. I still recommend anyone with male pattern baldness at least try it (the regular 1mg/day dose) and see.

I'm on Dutasteride and I notice nothing!

It puts me in a good mood and completely eliminates my acne.

Propecia, Minoxidil, Nizoral - Update 8 Months still hope

Update:

Been off Propecia for around 1 month now and everything seems to be going back to normal..! good news.! And I feel much better.. I'm thinking once I'm confident enough to get on it at .1 or .2.. Since I was on it for 5 month with no sides.. at 1.25MG.. I don't see how gradual use of propecia could have bad sides... Plus im still only 23.. I've noticed some shedding since i've stopped propecia.. But I got good results from it whilst I was on it, basically grew back all my hair again...

I'll keep u updated.. I don't know if we can get dusteride in Australia..!..
