Propecia in Australia

I understand that propecia is just the brand name but is it available here in Australia? Or is it under another brand.

Also do you get it perscribed by a doctor here as well. I've done research on this before of course but I can't find anything regarding its availability in Australia. Another question I ask is the cost of it.

Any answers are appreciated greatly.

sure, u can get propecia at any reasonable sized pharmacy. U DO need prescription though. i got mine for $59 AUS from roy young chemist (28 tablets for a mth). if u hav privated cover, u will get $31 even under the minimum cover i think. HTH

Could you not order some Proscar from a reputable online pharmacy?

Go to a different derm then.


BTW for the thread starter 30* 5mg Proscar cost me $AU115 from a local pharmacy.

I'm in melbourne, I get my proscar online at http://www.getpharma.com they ship the stuff from Merck italy. don't bother reading the instructions unless you're italian. You can do an online consultation and they send the stuff without a required australian prescription.
I pay 50 euro's, or about 80 bucks Aussie for 28 pills, lasting about 4 months. 20 bucks a month is pretty cheap compared to the 60 bucks a month I was paying for propecia.

Any GP who isn't comfortable prescribing drugs for legitimate conditons needs their license revoked.

It's as easy as going in, showing them your hair loss and giving them your family history of hair loss. If any males in your family have/are losing their hair, then you have yourself a Propecia prescription.

If there is no history, they will run some tests or refer you to a specialist to rules out anything else.

If you want to speed up the process, just say that someone in your family is already on Propecia and has had good results.

Hi. I live in melbourne and Dr. Richard Shiell gave me the prescription for proscar. Just look for him under HAIR in yellow pages. Also if u live interstate look under HAIR in ur yellow pages and Im sure u will find someone specialising in hair restoration etc. I had a really bad experience with proscar with major sexual sides which still haunt me. Hopefully u will be one of the lucky ones.
