Hey guys I'm 21 and have been losing hair for about 2 years, most agressively in the past year 08-09. I have been on Propecia for a year and have not noticed much improvement, but I took a break from taking the finasteride and noticed my shedding increased. Is it bad to continue taking the Propecia? and should I consider using Rogaine foam? All help is greatly appreciated!

Got any photo's?

Propecia keeps hair! 60%ish of people keep most of their own hair whilst being on propecia. The lucky 30% regrow hair. The unlucky <2% have side effects and can not use the drug. This has been surveyed over 5 years on more than 1000 applicants.

I do not know what norwood your are. If your hair loss is mainly in the crown or the receding hairline, try adding minoxidil into your regime.

Propecia maintains hair in about 80% of men and regrows/thickens in about 60%. These are the stats per the clinical trials. Where are you getting your information?

In my case, finasteride maintained my hair and there was no regrowth. I'm more than happy with the results.
