Propecia DOES affect fertility, everyone should realise this

Guys,

I don't mean to crash the party of all you propecia takers, but I feel that alot of people seem to neglect the fact that propecia fucks with your sperm very significantly. As the following link shows, 6 months after dropping propecia, sperm counts rose 5 fold for example.

I realise that some of you are going to say that you need an underlying fertility probelm to be affected by propecia in this way, but how do you know that YOU dont have an underlying fertility problem?

I stopped taking propecia over 18 months ago, due to literally see through watery semen (which i beleive affects the majority of propecia users) and after reading so many things on this topic. I also beleive that gyno is a fairly likely and noticeable outcome from taking propecia if you have very little body fat to start with. This will make it far more noticeable. I do not think some people know what to look for when suspecting gyno either, especially if they already have, excuse my expression, b**ch tits.

I beleive that the makers of propecia are not telling people really how bad this can be for you. There is no way on earth that ONLY ess than 2% of propecia users witness watery semen for example. This is complete rubbish.

Also, they do not mention this fertility issue anywhere, and dont you think that something that affects the ability to bring someone onto this earth is an important enough reuqirement to be mentioned?? i do!

“The FDA does not require fertility studies of these drugs, and it has been the suspicion of most of us in the field that if you take this drug for more than five years then you might consider stopping it because it does look like a player in decreasing spermatogenesis,â€￾

There we have it, they have not carried out tests on this subject and if they did they would lose a sh*t load of money. I find this all very ridiculous.

I have yet to see the publication of a couple having fertility problems because of low sperm count caused by finasteride

Nor have I, Yet I find it hard to believe that it's never happened, It simply hasn't happened enough.

Anyways, Most of us have loads of the stuff, and we need a lot less then we have to make babies.

I will admit if I was at the point in my life where I wanted kids, This would weigh on my mind.

the fact that merck havent even run any studies on this for the sake of the public is worrying.

I think that if you have been on propecia for several years it is worrying and may even be hard to reverse. Think about it, if you have constantly been halting a process in your body for ages, then how will it recover easily. I dunno.....

i had a post in the success stories from taking propecia and rogaine foam for 6 months.im 23.at 8 months in on propecia i began to really notice the side effects, ive been working out and doing alot of weight lifting for the past 3 years and jogging..i have never been a lazy person and im in very very good shape and i was 1 of the guys that said to people..."oh shut up the side effects are all in your head" i feel like a hipocrit now im smart enough to know how my body feels and the brain fog with the very weak erections and barely and sperm count happened to me,..i stopped taking the drug 6 days ago and im already feeling the effect go away and feeling better,my thoughts are clearer..my erections are starting to come back harder i dont feel weak anymore.im happy everything is reversing..its crazy how the side effects sneak up on you without noticing,,and little by little you think in your head "oh i was like this before... its all in my head" well guess what they are not in my head they were really happening...i ill stick to the rogaine foam but those sides are not worth it at all.and i did always have the thought of what effect this would have on my kids...i dont have to worry about this anymore..by the way can anybody that reads this help out and tell me what else i can use with the foam that is proven to help??thanks alot guys

Since we'r talking about gynos also, does stopping propecia reverse the b**ch tit effect or does it linger even after finasteride is out of the system ?

The weak/tired feeling is the worst. Never got moobs, but man were they sore. I figured that was enough. Altering hormones for vanity wasn't worth it for me.

No, and I have not tried, I am not married, although propecia has allowed me to get to "practice" a lot with beautiful women

yea i know where your comming from bubka...why are you still taking it if its effecting you that bad??...you know im not saying this is true but you never know the long term effects of these drugs,,some people have never reversed them..all i know is after 8 months on the drug and being off it for 5 days i feel fantastic..loads of energy comming back and the mental fog is basically gone..i dont feel weak anymore and in the middle of the night i got an erection and it felt weird because that hasnt happend in the last 8 months..its crazy how fast things are reversing for me....and the people that say "its all in your head" are ignorant people that just havent felt the side effects yet or just are lieing to themselves...there will be something better out in the next couple years...i know it sux to wait but its better to lose hair and have healthy hormones then messing with them with this drug

Instead of bullshit quotes i'm going to get down to the facts,

I'm 22, I take 1mg a day, Me and my girlfriend have sex atleast once a day, there has been no difference at all in my sex drive, and if I see my sperm, there is no, "less," amount that is released at all.

May be kind of crude, but honestly.. I have noticed 0 side effects. I wish it released less sperm, gives us that extra 1% chance the pill aint giving. I compare my pill to a girls pill, they both do have effects, but if you are healthy you most likely wont notice them.

I'm at the point in my life now where I am considering stopping all my treatments. For me its been a long traumatic journey, littered with flase hope and expectations. The reality is for me I haven't had major sides, but I have had them. I do feel more tired, sex drive is lower and everything thats linked to that. I'm a keen sports person and my bodyfat is never past 10% although I do seem to have more around my chest area these days. Couple all this and the fact that over the last 3 or 4 years since I started my treatment I have slowly continued to loose hair. Infact switching to foam doesn't seem to have helped, propicia certainly hasn't done anything after 9 months or so.

The hardest bit is stopping. If I do and I loose all my hair in a year I would be deverstated!

I always said a transplant would never happen....
