I am thinking about taking a second tablet (1mg) of Propecia per day to see if it improves my results. I thought I would take one tablet every 12 hours. Has anyone attempted this and if so, did you see a marked improvement in your results? Thank you for responding. :?

As with everything (here I go again), please subject ANY QUESTION YOU HAVE to the first criteria: Is there a clinical study discussing this issue?

If the answer is "no" then you can't answer the question aside from guessing. If the answer is "yes" then you have a definitive answer to your question.

Yes, there is a study done on dosages, both lower and higher than 1mg to see how they affected hair count.

I'm not taking anything else at the moment. Can you make a recommendation... something that really works? What is the reason that an additional dosage has no effect? Is it because a single dosage reduces DHT levels to an acceptable level?

Propecia works in 83% of people, if you use Nizoral shampoo along with it once every 3 days. To me that means it really works. You have to ride out the sheds though and give it at least a year.

They're not sure why a higher dose didnt seem to increase hair count by much. They don't understand these treatments quite that well yet. It was news to everyone when they did the study.

Well the FDA decided that 1mg would be enough to get good results, but people have upped their doses when they found the 1mg was not getting it done and it seems to worked for them. Coin toss it's your choice.
