Hi everyone,

I'm going to start propecia soon and am just wondering if it's known to stop recession in the temple region. Also, does it sometimes improve hair quality for remaining hairs in that area?

I'm not concerned with regrowth, I'd just like to keep everything where it's at right now.

Thanks,
Mike

i've seen a lotta people who've gotten good temple regrowth and maintenance with finasteride. i've been on it for about a month and a half now and altho i promised myself not to pay attention to my hair til the 3 month mark, i did look in the mirror at my hairline carefully the other day and then at my before pics, and there seem to be a lot of new baby hairs filling in the V shape, where it was a U shape before.
but i don't know.
it's a good place to start, anyway.

finasteride worked really good on my hairline, both regrew and thickened. Better than on my vertex, actually, which only maintained.

I think what finasteride does best in maintain; and for a looong time as well. Been on it for 6 and a half year, and only this year am I considering adding something to my regimen to thicken the vertex. But my hairline still looks the same as when I was 20 :)

I see that you are using both propecia and rogaine; did you start both at the same time?
I'm thinking of adding something to thicken up that vertex, do you think rogaine would do the trick even after 6 years of just maintaining on finasteride?

I started rogaine after i had been maintaining of finasteride for a couple of years in the hope that i could get my hairline to thicken up a bit, the results weren't dramatic but it definitely helped. i think my hairline might have lowered a bit but not sure.
