propecia and teenage hair line

How effective would propecia be at keeping a teenage hairline if you just wanted to keep as much as hair possible? Convincing a doctor to prescribe you it would probably be nearly impossible without much family history, but do you think its even worth trying?
It just seems like propecia slows it down so your still going to lose some hair slowly using it so why bother using it at all. I mean what guy does not lose some hair as they get older? Really every guy in the world could get on propecia just to keep the most hair possible right?

Yeah I could try that I guess. I just wondered if anyone has actually kept a teenage hairline by using propecia before it ever got any worse? Is it even worth trying that if its going pretty slow anyways and might not progress to a Norwood 7?
Let me say this most doctors nicely tell you dont worry about it, save your money, or something along those lines unless its obvious your Norwood 2 or higher so it just seems like a waste of time\money I guess trying doctors to try it.

From what you're saying, it sounds like you are not losing your hair and would like to take Propecia as a preventative even though you have no genetic predisposition. This is an awful idea. Propecia is not a fun drug to be on and there are risks associated with it. Don't go on it unless
you have to. No doctor will prescribe it to you either.

If you are really worried about it, use Nizoral shampoo. Studies show it is quite effective against hair loss and will it will double as a dandruff shampoo for you.

I think that's pretty good for a 5 year study. The majority of men kept their baseline hair or improved.
