Does anybody know if thyroid treatments can have a negative effect on on Propecia?

I'm currently taking Armour Thyroid (60mg) and Propecia (1mg) daily. Although Armour Thyroid is a completely natural (non synthetic) treatment, I'm just a bit concerned that it maybe interfering and being a detriment to the Propecia.

I've been on Propecia for nearly 9 months now and although I have not fallen below baseline, I feel I should be getting better results than I have gotten (so far) as I am not really seeing that much of an improvement.

Any idea's anyone?

I take the real prescribed synthroid and finasteride for at least 8 years now and they do not interfere with each other.

If you were not diagnosed with a thyroid problem by a doctor then don't mess around with your thyroid.

years ago I heard from an alternative doctor that an underactive thyroid can also cause hair loss and so I started taking thyroid supplements that I bought from a health food store for at least a year to see if it had any effect on hairloss. I admit I was doubling up on doses as an act of desperation.
It had no effect on hairloss but not too long afterwards I scewed up my thyroid (I think I did but my doctor doesn't aggree) and now take the real meds for it. it's sucks taking them for the rest of my life and I would stongly urge you to stop taking anything to do with the thyroid if there is nothing wrong with it.

one more thing many (natural) thythoid supplements are almost always an extraction of bovine thyroid. simply put dead cow thyroid extract. disgusting and risky because of cow disease and or contamination. look at the ingredients if it says bovine then it's what I just said.

another type of thyroid supplement is one loaded with iodine which can disrupt your thyroid's balance as well.
