Hi everybody,
I'm new here. I just turned 23 and probably been losing hair slowly since freshman year (diffused thinning more severely on left side). Recently though, the hair loss has come to a point where it has been bothering me. So after checking in with my doctor, she said I could take propecia. However, she mentioned that it might cause prostate cancer!! I googled online and while there is a connection between finasteride and cancer, it doesn't explicitly mention about propecia causing prostate cancer. I love to have more hair but not at the cost of cancer. This is the only obstacle preventing me from taking propecia. So my question to you is, is my doctor misinformed? Or is this the possibility of cancer an actual risk to consider?
Thanks.
