Propecia and genetics

I was wondering if anyone knew or believed that the aquire post-finseteride syndrome had a genetic pre-dispostion to the drug that made them react to it the way they did/do. So basically if, say, your father got pfs from propecia would you be much more likely to get it and vice-versa? I ask because two of my uncles have taken propecia (quit after they heard it could cause cancer-sorta) and experienced no side-effects. Im wondering if that fact would increase my chances of not getting side-effects/pfs.

thanks

Nobody knows. Very little is known about this condition other than the fact that it is extremely rare. Almost everyone who ends up with this is under the age of 40, as there are almost zero reports from men over 40. This suggest to me anyway that age has something to do with ending up with these symptoms. Very little is known about this, and the reported symptoms vary so dramatically that it's tough to even narrow down that finasteride was even the cause most of the time.
