I started taking Propecia around christmas time last year so its been aproximately seven months now. Unfortunately, I feel like I haven't made any progress when it comes to regrowth or maintaining. My hair is thinner than ever, especially my hairline and the top of my scalp. what do you guys think? should i give it a whole year? I was also wondering if doctors give propecia prescriptions with higher doses of finasteride (greater than 1mg)?

Hey =]

I started in November so we're pretty much at the same point, I have pretty long hair so it's hard to tell sometimes on the progress, I feel it looks a bit better but.. I think it may be because I'm getting better at making it look half decent (styling etc)

A lot of success stories I've read over see very little difference until 12 months +.. sometimes longer! Have a good read through the success section on the boards and you'll see what I mean.

I think you should give it more than a year really, stopping would potentially waste it all.

I think it depends on your doctor re: giving you the 5mg 'Proscar' as some would not like the idea of you cutting pills, while some will not make an issue out of it, I started on a Propecia prescription but then I moved onto generics after looking into the whole generic thing in detail.. stupidly cheaper!

i only started seeing results after 5-6 months, before that nothing really.

id say give it a year before deciding.
