Has Murrays formula done anything for u? From my understanding their formula is similar to promox

They might make hydroxyprogesterone.

I'm putting it everywhere.

My hairline is so dead, it's just gone beyond repair. I can't even create vellus hair on it.

It's been dead for too long, that's the issue.

You also have to factor in age as well.

Hair loss treatments aren't effective past a certain age point for some reason, but there is the fact that the bald areas have been dormant for far too long for possible revival with convenient treatments. How long have you had hair loss?

Did this work for you @rclark ?

Yes, they both work for me. I use them up like water.

Promox has .1% finasteride, 15% Minoxidil, and two percent Progesterone.

Murray has 30% Minoxidil, .1% Finastiride and .5% Progesterone.

And, I'm going to have Susan make my next one hydroxprogesterone.

Hydrox progesterone BY ITSELF has regrown hair in men. However, these men have recently lost their hair, so
I really can't compare it to my situation.

What's the method of action with Progesterone?

HydroxyProgesterone has been shown to regrow hair on it's own.

Progesterone should, "in theory", keep the hair in because pregnant women don't
lose their hair, and it is a precursor for testosterone.

That said, it's also sold as a female hormone substitute, so they're probably some
sides with it.

This is a better international study, however it only has ten control subjects (the study I was referring to had
18, and specified recently losing hair, but not time.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2436423

The other one was on a progesterone commercial site. I will try to find it. However it also said that standard
Progesterone didn't regrow DHT destroyed follicles. Only hydroxy progesterone did.

That said, there are side effects with too much progesterone in men.

They are listed here:

https://www.livestrong.com/article/290358-high-progesterone-levels-in-men/

This study had 18 subjects in it:

@rclark did you regrow ? How much has it thickened any miniaturised hair ?

The problem is I currently cannot find a pharmacy that makes hydroxy progesterone. I'm still looking though.

I'm keeping the hair I have with Progesterone, and had a very "slow" hairline regrowth. By slow, I'm talking about ten follicles in two years.

Any side effect?

None so far, that I know of.

I have a full beard, so no sexual side effects. Type II diabetes, probably not.
So i could use finasteride in conjunction with progesterone as a topical, to regrow my recently lost hairline?
What are the possible sides?

Men naturally only create a fraction of Progesterone that women do. The international
government study I quoted before only had ten men in it. Also it was done in 1987, two
years before Minoxidil wasn't generic and the company knew it was going to make
good profits.

In other words, I really don't know why the studies discontinued.

I would not recommend males to going higher than .5 %, if you're taking it for baldness.

Finasteride has much more scientific evidence of permanent hair regrowth.

That said, Minoxidil, when started at a young age with the first signs of hair loss, can
bring hair back. It is possible it slows the effects of baldness, although it probably not
permanently stop it.

For the record, and my own opinion, I think males in their twenties or younger should
try the following, in this order:

1. Minoxidil - regular strength, and with foam, so there is no scalp irritation. This is NOT as effective as Finasteride, however there are less "plumbing side effects".

Foam was made to solve scalp problems, and lets face it, women probably don't find dandruff flakes attractive at all. Unless you're an Eskimo, and live in an igloo, they will notice.

2. Micro doses (one half) of Finasteride tablets. Possibly one quarter, depending if the pill is "scored" in quarters or not.

Thanks for the update.

At least you don’t have any loss. Again did it thicken up miniaturised hair ?

I am using Belgravia’s 8% with medroxyprogesterone MPG 0.0125% . Is it the same as hydroxyprogesterone ?

They are different. It did thicken my miniaturised hair on my vertex, as I am close
to when I was in my twenties.

Hydroxyprogesterone is synthetic, and not available in living organisms, unlike mydroxyprogesterone.

This government study explains the differences:

Rclark where are you ordering your promox these days ? I think I want to try a higher concentrate of minoxidil to try and speed up my results. I’m already on fina and figure the small extra dose localized to the scalp could be of some help along with the other actives in this product.
