Baldies,
If you recall correctly, I visited a reproductive endocrinologist specialist at Harvard after my initial blood test results from a local GP came out a bit awry.
Initially, my total testosterone was 799 ng/dL (ref. range 270-827), but my total estrogens were 212 (ref. range <130). This worried me as I thought finasteride raised my estrogens way high (which it can do).
So I went to Boston, and the specialist first warned me about those general estrogen assay tests as inaccurate. So she tested my testosterone, E2 (estradiol -- the strong form of estrogen), and DHT.
The results:
Estradiol 34 pg/mL (normal <50)
Testosterone 632 ng/dL (normal 270-1070)
DHT 13 ng/dL (normal 30-85)
This blood test was taken in the late afternoon, so the testosterone levels are at their lowest point (the first test was taken early in the morning when T-levels are at their highest). My DHT is clearly low from the finasteride use (I'm on my 4th year). But the E2 and T levels seem to be normal.
Anyway, comment away if you've got something somewhat valuable/interesting to say.
