Howdy ya'll:

First time poster, long time reader. I am 38 years young, I have been slowly thinning since about 25. I still have hair on the front of my head but I am thinning on the temples and on the back part of my head(crown?).

I used Rogaine for about 6 months and was getting results. However, I had to stop because I was having rapid heart beat

Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions as far as what I can use that won't have any side effects concerning the heart?

I see there is a relatively 'new' product out there called Procerin by Speedwinds Nutrition, Inc. I will copy and pasted the ingrediants

Saw palmetto 1500mg
Zinc Sulfate 15mg (100% DRV)
Pyroxide 5mg ( 300% DRV)
Magnesium 150mg (38% DRV)
Proprietary Blend containing:
Gotu Kola
Nettles
Pumpkin Seed
Siberian Ginseng
Yohimbe
Muira Puma Root
Uwa Ursi

Thanks for the help.

See all those herbs and vitmains you listed under your regimen. Thats procerin its just a bunch of herbs in a bottle. CRAP!! Just take your herbs and get on propecia!

Procerin does NOT work. It is just a bunch of vitamins and herbs. every snake oil on the planet uses this tactic to trick people into buying it. They have absolutely NO CLINICAL DATA backing their product at all.

All those sites they've made that claim its works better than Propecia are total and complete fake websites that are totally and completely lying to people. They don't have a single published study to point to and they lie to users saying Propecia costs $175 a month. What a bunch of BS!!!

Avoid Procerin like you would a big pile of horse dung.

A lot of people seem to be dissing Procerin because there has been no clinical studies to prove that it has any good effect.

A lot of people(me included) are taking Saw Palmetto anyway as there is supposed to be some good advantages to it.

I have been thinking about adding Procerin to my regime and cut out the pure Saw Palmetto. Propecia has the results to prove it works but I don`t think we should be so negative about products like Procerin. The simple facts are we dont know if it has any good advantages or not.

If we have such a negative view on all products that don`t carry any clinical studies then we will never find out about anything that could be of use to us.

Procerin might be a load of old poo, but untill it has been provern that its useless I would rather keep an open mind!.

Could try RU, Funkster made a post about how to get it. Its a topical DHT inhibitor. Going through FDA Trials right now. No systematic side effects according to the information funkster posted.

I use Procerin in my regime because I ordered it before ever reading posts here. Then I realized that I should go with the proven method rather than something unproven likes of Procerin. For me time is more important than Money. I had to go with the proven method for most people here. Since I have 3 months supply of Procerin, I take it with my regime. So far I don't think it has negative or positive effect on my body. I've been taking it for 7 weeks, and plan to finish up the whole 3 months supply. It should be a good suppliment anyways, but very expensive. Hope this helps.

It is only about $25 less than Generic Propecia, why screw around with unproven stuff, get the real deal.

I don't care what anybody say I believe that Saw Palmetto can give you sexual sides. I was taking about 600mg a day and at first I was an animal in the gym allot stronger on the iron. I was also allot hornier and the zits on my back got inflamed and itchy. That lasted for about a week and half then I noticed my libido wasn't as high, did not care about sex that much- although I could still perform well, just not the usual desire. My ejaculate also became lesser. After 1 month everything went back to normal. I recently added Arginine and all sexual functions are above peak levels. Stamina & load size are at an alltime high.

I can not explain what happend only speculate that it was the saw palmetto, hair did not get better though and not to much worse. My point is that I believe saw palmetto does act on the hormones in one way or the other- mind you it was nothing like some of the Fina side effects I read about on HairLossTalk.com.

RU, what is that? I went to the FDA website and did a search on it and found nothing.

Hey Funkster, you have anymore info on RU?

procerin is a load of crap. i been on it since november 2004 to august 2005. on it for 10 months, and my hair had been gettin worse, my hairline continued to recede and my baldpatch got bigger. i was in denial and told myself that its only a shed, lol. only if i can recover the hair i lose whilst on procerin, i'll be so happy and feel cosmetically happy about my appearence!

guys, avoid procerin, coz it'll do nothin for your hairloss. all those websites that claim that procerin works are a load of crap, i fell for their fake claims, as would any desperate naive person would!
I can admit, procerin did seem very attractive at first, considerin that they claimed that it works better than propecia and they lied about propecia being over a $100 per year, and that procerin had no side-effects and they claimed 88% success rate.... what bullsh*t.
The bottom line, those claims were too good to be true, and I wasn't aware of that, because I was new to hairloss and was very depserate and very naive.
Whilst on Procerin, my hairloss progressed so much, that I decided to jump the gun and got on dutasteride, which is a proven drug to help hairloss.
My bottom line, Avoid these fake scam products at all cost. Use some common sense, if a product makes a claim of it being very successful, then they should have some clinical trials and data to support their claims! Procerin has absolutely no trials or what so ever, and no data for them to make the claim of 88% success rate, whereas Propecia has 83% success rate backed by their clinical trials.
I have learnt this lesson the hard way, I have lost so much hair and so much confidence and self-esteem, whilst on this product. This product had done absolutely nothing for my hairloss, and my hairloss has progressed so much, making it look significantly worse than how it was before I started this crappy Procerin.

sorry guys, but I am absolutely p*ssed off with this crappy procerin. If i had started finasteride last year instead of procerin, then my hairloss would have progressed and I would have regrown back some hairs I lost years before that.

I dont want any of you newbies to make the same mistake as me. If you do, then you'll be wasting alot of money and will be losing your hair in the process. Those of you who are gonna try procerin, you might aswell give that money to charity, to starving children in this world, instead of that scamming lying company!

Well yeah. Thats kind of a huge, major, monumental problem ... if something has zero data backing it. Every medical professional in every medical office in every medical facility in the world thinks the same way when it comes to treating a condition. There's a reason for this mentality. A ridiculously obvious reason. Even herbs have data backing them to help various conditions, and have even been tested. For such herbs, we logically mention them as potentilly helpful alternatives to "drugs". But when an herb has miserably failed to do anything substantial, you don't consider it an option.

A lot of people(me included) are taking Saw Palmetto anyway as there is supposed to be some good advantages to it.
Like what? It failed to reduce serum DHT levels in a clinical study. This is a showstopper when it comes to an orally ingested 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. You're taking it because you kinda hope it might do something even though you kinda know all the data says otherwise. That isn't the kinda thinking we like to promote, because it makes little sense. You double your chances of side effects for no good reason, and Im not comfortable telling my users to do that.

I have been thinking about adding Procerin to my regime and cut out the pure Saw Palmetto.
People take issue with Procerin largely because they blatantly lie on their web sites. I don't know how you managed to gloss over the flat out lies they have posted, not to mention the pictures ... They actively discourage people away from Propecia by saying it costs something like $200 for a 1 month supply, they make impossible claims about their product. They create multiple web sites with unsubstantiated "user reviews" that in my opinion are totally fake reviews. Any company that has no problem lying this much should be avoided in my opinion. Any company that has to lie this much to get a sale, knows that its product has nothing to stand on as far as scientific merits.

The simple facts are we dont know if it has any good advantages or not.
The same could be said for pouring Poop on your head. Thats why we don't tell people to pour poop on their head. It makes no sense.

If we have such a negative view on all products that don`t carry any clinical studies then we will never find out about anything that could be of use to us.
Again, very poor logic. If we have such a negative view on products that carry no data, we test them. Until then, they are in the same arena as 'Poop' being poured on your head, because we have no reason to believe either one works.

Procerin might be a load of old poopy, but untill it has been provern that its useless I would rather keep an open mind!.
Backwards. Until it has been proven that it is helpful, I would rather use something that I know works.

By the way - cantosis ..........

Checked out your posting history. Its amazing how some of the same guys who are negative and say something negative about how things are done, always have a history of something similar ...

Why come here if you don't agree with the way the place is run, and is "utter sh*t" ... ?
