Pre-cutting finasteride equals losing effectiveness?

Last prescription of generic finasteride I got I immediately cut every pill in 1/4s and that was back in December. Last month my head started itching like crazy, my hair part widened, and I've been shedding insane amounts every day. I didn't think the finasteride was losing effectiveness but then I started getting a higher sex drive.

I went back to get another prescription filled and I've been cutting these every day, it seems that the itching is dying down. Anyone else go through this? Is it bad to cut them all at once...possibly with oxygen hitting them?

Yeah it certainly seems silly to cut up your whole pack of pills all in one go. I store about 5 pills in the pill-cutter at a time (it has little pockets to hold them) and only cut them when I need to.

I agree with the above posters, cut a weeks worth, 2 pills, and then store them in a tablet container, the ones that are air tight.

Good to know that and I'm not just going crazy. I started using nizoral again too because it appeared back on the shelves...I guess they got their patent renewed? My itching has already completely stopped with the nizoral and the top of my head feels healthy and less tight. I never realized nizoral was so important to the regimen.

Since fixing the finasteride problem and starting nizoral hopefully my hair will go back to the way it was. I experienced some heavy Telogen Effluvium with the scalp inflammation (they all had the white bulbs and have been all over the scalp), and now I am still shedding an insane amount but hopefully the nizoral will stop that over the next few days.
