Maybe 3000

We don't hang around here all day, we see something knew and post it. No one looks to see if it's been addressed before.

The media are like lemmings one of them covers a story and they all do. I saw on like cnn they had a clip on this story where he called it a cure of baldness. I mean that is a flat out lie they never claimed this was a cure we all know this will probably not be that big.
They do not know how big of a breakthrough this will even be they have a long way to go to know how well this even works.

interesting discovery, a protein which has been found in increased volumes in balding ares and has been proven that it binds to the folicle and tells it not to grow?????????????????

sounds good to me, i mean if its not the cure surely something good will come of this like another treatment to help, but it sounds like they've discovered another factor in baldness here or even the underlying cause.

I'd be interested in seeing if lowering DHT effects this protein? has this been mentioned yet? becuase if this protein is telling our hair to stop growing, but less dht makes it grow and ignore the protein signals then something must be going on.

I realise this isn't the 'cure' we're all hoping for, but incremental scientific progress, bit by bit, means we're closer to an end goal, whenever that may be... Heck, even if this knowledge just leads to slightly better treatment options, that'll be a good result in itself.

those "breakthroughs" you are mocking are the reason you are able to live life with hair again

yea . . . . .all the research that was done to make rogaine, propecia, hair transplants, and concealers, ALL that was in vain eh? :shakehead:

LOL you have'nt been around long enough to understand.
I've been hearing this since before you were born. I remember about 20 yrs ago seeing a documentry where they practicly claimed they had found a cure and were just testing it.
And every year since then theres been a story like this.
hair transplant's have been around since the 50's so have concealers, so their hardly breakthroughs and NOT by any means a CURE.

The only major breakthrough in the last 50 yrs has been Finasteride and that was'nt made as a baldness treatment its results were an incidental side effect.
