Good morning everyone!

I have a few questions about my possible hair loss. First off im 24 years old and have long hair. At my last job I was forced to wear it in a pony tail everyday (8 months) and for the first 2 months of my new job.

My dad has long hair as well and is only experiencing loss on the top of his head but its not very much. He has also worn it in a pony tail every day for the last 20 years. No one in my family is bald or has every starting balding.

Ive also had these short wild hairs at my hair line for a several years (at least that I can remember).

Is this due to wearing it up? Ive hair it long for about 8 or so years now. I really wanna try and slow this down as much as I can if possible.

Ill be here to answer any questions.

(yes I was looking at balding pics on google in one of them)

Added more pics, with it a little wet this time.0129151255.jpg0129151257a.jpg0129151258a.jpg

Maybe some thinning. Not sure though. Check with a doctor.

Doctors are useless. Only way to know if he's truly balding is to do a trichoscan of non-balding areas (sides and back) and then the areas of the norwood 6 pattern for comparison between density and thickness. Then do a followup trichoscan 6 months later.

Everything I typed disappeared :/

Anyways! Good morning everyone!

Today I had a few questions about possible hair loss. Im am 24 and have long hair and im not sure if I am thinning or going bald. My fiancee and everyone I know tells me im not but it seems like they are just trying to make me feel better.

I have always had the small hairs at the front as long as I can remember. No one in my family is going bald or has every balded in recent history. My dad has long hair as well and is BARELY thinning from wearing it in a pony tail for 25 years.

Its got me a bit depressed and I wanna try and get it fixed as soon as I can.

Here are some pics with it dry and wet.

The hairs in the front are wild when dry and im not sure if its from thinning or wearing it in a pony tail at my old job everyday (8 months).

I don't see anything personally. Monitor over the next couple months.

if you hair is that long there is an empirical way to know if you hair is at least thining, if some hair falls out you can compare the root of your fallen hair with the peak, as time passes you can see the root thinner than the peak if you are thinning, thats an accurate way to know if thining its happening, as most of men doesnt have their hair that long is difficult to estimate in very short and short hairs, the longer the hair the longer gap of time you can compare.

Depends on the Doctors, in most of medical check ups, so many of them don't paid that much attention specially when your hair-loss is subtle. But not because it can`t be noticeable.

.

Is this correct?

I thought that all hair that naturally sheds would be thinner at the root (hence why it sheds) as it's at the end of its cycle. The issue with male pattern baldness is that it regrows thinner (or not at all, whereas non male pattern baldness it regrows fresh at full thickness?
