Poll: Should I take Propecia

Hi guys
I've read the success stories and read abt finasteride and finally I 've decided to take propecia and nizoral 2%

I've bought it today (payed abt 100 $)

but when I've arrived home again I continue searching and reading and I found this website http://www.propeciahelp.com ,I've read the stories and now I'm really worry to use finasteride !!!

my hair is ok now but it's abt a year that I'm loosing my hair abt 20 to 40 per day.
(21 years old)
my father my grandpas my uncles my bro all of them were/are experiencing serious hair loss.

If it continues I'm sure 6 month later I will join to them
on the other hand I don't want to risk my life

anyway

please tell me what is your idea ??????

since you do have MBP running in your family

and you are of age to start using it

i would recommend you use it

i suggest you use generic proscar
which is 5mg of finasteride
you can split the pills into 4ths
to help save money

Try it. If you start getting sides, or don't feel comfortable about it, then you can stop and should feel fine again within a week. On the other hand, if you feel fine you can carry on. Some get sides, some don't.

As others have said just give it a shot, if you are in the small minority experiencing sides you can stop. I am a month in on about 1.25mg of finasteride cut into 1/4ths (5mg pills) once a day and I have experienced no side effects what so ever. I have also heard that some people initially experience side effects, only to have them disappear a month or two into treatment.

and I use 0.5 mg each day instead of 1 mg.

That website has been around for about 7 years now (started as a Yahoo group) and they have about 25 active members who go board to board trying to scare the living $hit out of anyone who takes Propecia.

I listened to their hype and stopped taking it myself and I lost a ton of hair. Thank god after 14 months back on Propecia it grew back

I have never had any sides and have been on it 12 years


BTW if you think you are going to get sides you most likely will.

A VERY SMALL % of people get sides from Propecia that they can't handle.

but If the side effects appear I will stop taking it.,,,

UPDATE:

It's abt a month that I'm using propecia (0.5 mg ) daily plus nizoral 2 times a week.

I experience no serious side effect till now
but shedding increase obviously ( loosing abt 50 hair in shower ) and I'm really worry abt it....
should I change my regime or stick with it?????

these questions are extremely hard to answer

you need to understand this

in you post you said you haven't experienced sides till now
what are they?
just shedding?

keep in mind it is very normal
for the average person
to lose approx 100 hairs a day

if you're "sides" are (just shedding 50 hairs a day)
I would stick to your regiment
and be patient

i would suggest you forget about
your hair for 9 months
and then assess your gains or losses

keep in mind
your mind can play tricks on you
in the short run

hair loss regiments are an long run remedy
some sheds occur
but if the new hair pushing out the old hair
is better/thicker/stronger
than the treatments are working
and you need to relax

and understand the shed hair
will improve to better quality hair
