wow. went to the dermatologist. told him i was looking into dutasteride. he nodded but said it wasnt FDA approved. he didnt talk about side effects, or that i was too young to take it; he simply said it wasnt fda approved. i thought, ok fair enough. then i asked about if i could get a prescription for generic finasteride (which someone here said you could get cheap from costco). i dont want to pay $70 a month for propecia any more. and he just said a generic version didnt exist. then i asked about proscar, and he said they used to give that out and have patients cut it up, but the pharmacy told them to stop. so, basically, i drove all the way to my dermatologist, paid $25 for the co-pay, and got absolutely nothing about of it. end rant.

Every doctor is different, some are uncomfortable with prescribing Proscar. I would keep looking until you find a doctor that will prescribe it. Trust me, the $25 co-pay doesn't even compare to the hundreds you will be saving by not paying the ridiculous price of Propecia.

Go find a new doctor or just order from an online pharmacy and test your luck. I have ordered from alldaychemist with good success.

I'm the guy that got my generic finasteride from Costco.

I logged onto Propecia's website and they have a section that looks up a doctor near you that'll give you a consultation for Propecia FOR FREE!

No b.s. $25 co-pay, just a free Doctor visit (turns out it was a Doctor who specializes in hair transplant) and he gave me a prescription of just PLAIN FINASTERIDE. NOT GENERIC, he just wrote down 5mg finasteride.

So bottomline, go to a hair transplant Doctor. Don't mess w/ online ordering bro.

Hope that helped! If you got more questions, I'll come back and answer em' for ya.
