It is out of being hurt

Yeah at a certain point you just accept you're unwanted and you don't need to play these games to know it. It doesn't stop hurting of course. Being unwanted is a very painful thing especially if you're someone who is extroverted and sociable and would enjoy social opportunities.

But it is what it is. I'm not gonna wake up looking like that guy in the OP and neither are you. Looks are the number one determinant of your dating options as long as you are otherwise actively making an effort. And you really can't change your looks all that much unless you are for example obese and then lose a lot of weight.

If you're already doing everything you can then you just need to take what you can get, accept your place in life, and try to find other hobbies. Easier said than done, I know. I'm not exactly succeeding at it myself. It's very counter human nature. We're social and sexual beings by nature. Being cut off from that for something you can't change will never be easy.

Still, like I said, what else can we do?

Thoughtful post, but do you not think the OP’s sense of entitlement in referring to a woman as “average” might be part of the problem?

No. I don't think there's anything wrong with being objective about your own strengths or weaknesses or those of others as well. OP was obviously quite excited to have found her due to their similarities and sad she blew him off.

I've been there too. Who hasn't?

Its not about entitlement as much as it is about the hope that someone you like will be as excited to know you as you would be to know them. But that's hard to find. At least for some of us.

Unless you're in the average or above range, people mostly just judge you from how you look and if you don't look like what they want, there isn't much else you can do to change their mind.

That's a hard realization for a lot of us because we're raised to believe something very different.

The point here is to expose hypocrites.

To reveal who is merely a gold digger and delusionally dangerous

It's the same test I'd give any woman

There is no point in that. Any girl will take a better looking and richer guy over a poorer and uglier guy.

There's nothing to "expose". Women will take the best they can get. Many would rather even share a top tier man with hundreds of other women (eg. on Tinder) than have a lower tier one to themselves. That's just how it goes.
