Please tell me if I'm losing my hair

My mom tells me that its just the way my hair is, my cousin tells me I'm balding, I dont know who is right, could someone who know what theyre talking about please tell me whats happening? Im about to be 18 in a month, so it doesnt seem likely I'm balding, but the thought freaks me out.

Show more pictures so that we can assess better and also some background information of hair loss within your family. Judging from the picture it looks like you are thinning from the crown. Never trust your mom or women in general they just don't want to hurt you.

Does your hair near that spot feel whispy or really thin? Need more pictures to evaluate accurately.
