Ok so i'm 25 and the first 23 years of my life were blessed with extremely thick fantastic hair. About 2 years ago I noticed some thinning on my hairline and then it become harder to continue my usual spiked hair style. 6 months in and it was getting noticable so I started using procepia. I was on that for a year and my hairline was getting drastically worse, esp. the temples so i started minoxidil. I've been using minoxidil for about 8 months now and Nizoril for 3 along with the continued use of Procepia. Not only is nothing working but my loss is accelarating, I mean every week my hairline loss noticably worse (only real problem is hairline, some thinning all over on top but not much). The only thing its done is give me heaps of barely visible white hairs around the templs and all over my forehead. Its getting bad and I cant beleive how fasts its happening. I mean my mates were losing their hair and then all of a sudden I just went straight past them to an even worse stage. Its unbearable and i'm miserable.

My questions - should I stop minoxidil, procepia or both and if so what should I try?
Please help this is killing me.

I wouldnt wish this on anyone. Its funny how you never actually think of what bald/ing guys feel until it happens to you. Then you go damn, this hurts, it changes everything really, I mean i'm not the same guy I was before. I was a really funny easy going guy and now, i'm angry and depressed. I'm lucky that i've been with the most gorgeous ( and i mean hot, model) down to earth girl for the last 2 years. She tells me it doesnt matter and to get over it and god i wish i could.

So can anyone give me there advice about the above question. I'm quitting minoxidil this week and stopping procepia when i run out.

Youre doing the right things.

Only use the nizoral two or three times a week at most, as ketoconazole stays in the dermis for over 72 hours at therapuetic concentration after application. Leave the shampoo suds in for one minute or even two beforfe rinsing off. Stay on the finasteride and minoxidil. Attempt to eat a healthy diet, and try not to worry about it.

I know its a huge change. Your looks change when your hair starts to go and its really painful when you are young. Been there, done that. At one time, I had damn near Brad Pitt hair. You definitely dont look the same when it starts going, and it hurts. If its any consolation, in a few years, lots of guys that you know will start losing their hair too, and over the years the women dont mind it as much. It must be something they primally begin to not mind as they get older. It freaks out 19 year old babes though, and that can be hard to take when you are still chasing them.

Better stuff, like cloning, wnt-signalling induced healing that produces follicles in wounds, gene therapy (kinda far out in the future) are being worked on now. In five or six years, there is a good chance we will have much, much better options available to us. Just dont freak out and get strip scar surgery or something you might regret. Keep the hair cut neat and short, groom yourself appropriately, use what works (you already are), and become as successful as you can so you can afford somthing like cloning when it becomes a reality in coming years.
