Heya!! So I've just been worried the last 2 or so years that the top of my scalp is thinning. From what I can tell, my hairline doesn't seem to be receding, but it might be on the right side, ever so slightly. The last couple years have been hell for me, with extreme physical pain caused by fibromyalgia that's left me suicidal for the greater part of 3 solid years. Only recently has life started to look somewhat upwards. But I wonder if the pain's already taken it's toll, because I seem very young for this. It could've even been the copious amounts of antidepressants I've had to take just to keep the pain down, who knows? Either way, I've been told I'm kinda physically attractive for a while now, but right at the point where I have the self-esteem to believe people when they say that now I have this to deal with. Did I miss my window to look good? I remember when the pain was really bad and I was crying for days on end, after a while of crying my scalp would start to feel like it was burning. Was this a sign of stress-related thinning? My beard does have these circular patches where hair doesn't grow on it... that seems like a more direct sign of stress-related alopecia. Or am I just really unlucky here and making that up to cope? I don't know. Please be honest.

Your crown looks ok, if it was really thinning you would know after the barber gives you the mirror from behind.

If it was male pattern baldness, it would look like two lines sneaking up in a circular pattern, expanding.

You're young. You still have a good set of hair. START doing something. finasteride and minoxidil

No, there isn’t enough miniaturization there. Your best bet is to see a reputable hair loss Doctor in person for consult to examine. Let that Doctor know you have a thread online as well. If you do not have family history of hairloss it is more unlikely you would. Id try to get a free consult. If you are thinning, then doctors can prescribe you finasteride. But you are young, it can play with your hormones and has side effects. Another option is eating healthy and rogaine only if you need it. Right now, from those pics it does not warrant you needing treatments. Best of luck.

Hard to say definitively, but with that hairline, you can’t afford to lose any ground at all. Definitely check in with a dermatologist.

Do you have pictures from when you were younger?

Look, the only way to know for sure is to post some younger pictures of yourself. There are people with larger foreheads that aren't balding. Also, no reason to worry for the crown, you seem to just have a cowlick + finer hair (fine hair ISN'T thinning hair, it's just something that usually appears in blonds like you). Anyways, I would worry a bit about your hairline, but ONLY if it is different from earlier pictures. If not, than I'm positive you are good to go. You can always go to a dermatologist to get a specialist's opinion.
