Okay, so I am twenty one years old and have a receding hair line. My hair is thinning a bit, but mainly just receding. I suppose since my hair is curly and I wear it long it is thicker. I do not have "the spot" on the top of my head. I noticed that I was losing my hair when I was 18 or 19 and now I want to stop the process.

That said I really want to know if anyone out there has any product advise for me. I am not really sure I want to pop pills that will have wild side effects on me and don't know if I can even afford them. I've been reading on this site and just want to know what a fellow with a receding hairline can take that is more along the lines of say shampoo you could buy in a store or online. Regrowing isn't my main concern, mainly keeping what I have.

I take Biotin pills, brush/stimulate my scalp, and eat more protein, but I need something more.

Thanks so much.

.5 finasteride You will have like close to no chance of anything happening other than keeping your hair.

Hello. Straight up:

If you are balding and want to keep your hair - you HAVE to get on a DHT inhibitor such as Finasteride (most commonly used) or Dutasteride.

Otherwise, you will continue to lose your hair. It's as simple as that.

Nizoral shampoo also helps prevent DHT and since most people shampoo their hair regularly, you might as well use this too - because it helps.

Forget minoxidil, that's for regrowth and it's a pain in the ***.

As for side effects, there is very little chance you will experience anything on JUST finasteride.

If you are definately balding you need to look into the proven treatments (The big 3), if you don't want to try the treatments you need to start dealing with the fact that you're going to be bald.. it's sad but true..

P.S: Are you named after the band 'big black'?

When you refer to the "Big 3" are you suggesting I try all three products mentioned or one of the "3"?

My name comes from an old nickname, no band. Sorry.

finasteride and nizoral if you're just looking for maintenance with the possibility of some regrowth, add minoxidil if you need more regrowth.

Hey,
thanks for all the information and support. A lot of my friends and family either think I am crazy (not really that bald) or am vein because I care so much about my looks. It's easy for them to say with a full head of hair.

Anyway, after a lot of research I think I am going to try JUST the Nizoral shampoo. Propecia seems a little too risky and the side effect are not in my favor. It's about time I finally get around to fighting it. I might take some pictures now just in case something happens. Maybe it'll work for other people too.

Just order some generic fincar and cut it into quarters. Try it for a few months and if u get sides and just CANNOT bear them then quit! It will only cost you like 15 bucks dude....

Its a great investment, what if u get absolutely NO SIDES (Like 95% of the hundreds of thousands of users)? Wouldn't that please you? Finasteride has practically 0% chance to cause any irreperable damage.
