Hello All.

I have been reading this forum for the past week but there is SO much information, abbreviations, technical terminology etc, that I honestly and so confused I'm about to just all my hair off and give up!

Now that being said I'm hoping some of you veterans can help me out.

First, I starting finasteride about a month ago. I take 1/2 a fincar tablet a day ~2.5mg. Also, I have just ordered the nizoral shampoo from Inhouse. From reading it seems I can't use this shampoo everyday and need to have a different one. Also, I want to add Min to my regimen, but here are my problems/concerns.

1) I live in Japan. I don't know how to get a good shampoo with the copper whatever or emu oil? or all the other stuff that I'm reading about. Also, I need to get a conditioner.

2) I read about some of the widely used shampoo's and conditioners but I don't know if there's anywhere I can buy them in Japan or buy them online and have them shipped.

3) I want to start using min but I keep reading so much positive and negative I don't know what to do. I am worried about shedding as under some lighting I feel like I already look REALLY bald. But, my hairline at the temples has receded quite a bit, and anything that might help that I really want to try. Also, I can get the liquid from inhouse but what is difference between rogaine liquid and the spray headway or spectral.dnc? Also, I have heard that if you do one day stop min it can accelerate the balding process...something that really scares me.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, is there a website where I can get spiro5 cream in Japan? If not, is Retino-A a god alternative. I plan on using it on my temple area, but what about areas where there is still thin hair?

You're doing the right thing in starting finasteride. For minoxidil it really depends on how far your male pattern baldness has progressed and where. If it's just a little thin in the crown area, finasteride will most likely thicken it back up. For a receding hair line or loss in the frontal region, minoxidil will most likely help more in those areas. Pics would help if you can add them. For spironolactone, I'm pretty sure Dr.lee ships to japan and/or this site sells it.

Thanks! What is Dr. Lee? Also, what about shampoos and conditioners? As for the progression I am NW2A with a LOT of thinning on top. Scalp is visible in most all lighting. Crown is fine oddly enough. I really want to try to get some of my hairline back and thicken up the top. Any other advice...please?

uhhhh...

You should really only take 1mg of finasteride per day. You don't need 2.5mg.

Cut the pill into 1/5 (1mg) or if you want you can do 1/4 (1.25mg)...but you don't need 1/2 (2.5mg).

This is Dr.lee's website http://www.minoxidil.com/

Based on what your telling me, without seeing any pics, I WOULD start minoxidil and apply it to the thinning areas. Just be warned that starting finasteride and minoxidil means you're on them for life or untill your ready to give up your hair.

If your really concerned about having thin hair try nanogen. It will give you the appearence of thicker hair (it wont actually thicken your hair just give it the illusion that it is thicker). You could try that until the meds you are using restore your hair back.

Thanks guys. I"ll definitely stay on finasteride use the nizoral shampoo. But before I start minoxidil, I was wondering how time consuming you find it. I read that it takes 4 hours to dry? I also am concerned about the side effect of speeding up the balding process. Furthermore, any info on all the different minoxidil's out there. I have seen at least 10 varieties and I really can't tell the difference. I know I'm asking a lot of questions but I really just want to know as much as possible before starting a regimen. Because as someone pointed out, once you start there's no going back.

Also, I was thinking about getting the spirocream, and was wondering if I should just put it on the slick temple areas or try to massage it into the thin areas as well. In terms of creams what is the difference between spironolactone and using just the retin-a cream?

Thanks again.
