Hello all,

I have applied topical spironolactone for the first time last night; it wasn't S5 cream but it was another product ordered from another website and this stuff STINKS! I thought it would wash out when I showered but even after shampooing 2x I can still smell it on my fingers when I run my hands through my hair.

Long story short- I start a new job on Monday with many other new employees and I will be meeting many new people, walking around outside(sweating) etc. and I am afraid of smelling like a skunk on my first day of work.

I have ordered S5 cream from this website but until it gets here what should I do? Will I start a shed if I don't continue to apply it until the S5 gets here? I don't want to lose ground because I applied this stuff just one time.

Please help! Thanks

There is no shed with spironolactone. I never heard anyone had shed while stopping it or using it. I've been using S5 for any years, it has no bad smell.
When it comes to smell on your scalp from other spironolactone you used, try lemon juice it will take that smell out. But don't leave it in your hair. Just gently rub it in and then wash it off with shampoo.

would you say that you've had decent results from S5? and do you have any proof (pics, stories, etc.) of it working? i'd assume that you wouldn't continue to use it if you didn't think it provided decent results, but i'm curious as to whether you've been using it alongside finasteride/dutasteride/RU, or just using it solely on its own (or with minoxidil/nizoral)?

...i ask because I just ordered some S5 last night for the first time.

I believe it slowed my hair loss. Before I started using spironolactone I was shedding more hair. I've been using it for around 5 years and I believe my hairloss slowed down. I also use minoxidil at night and nizoral 1% ketokonazole 3 times a week.
But please remember you won't regrow hair with just spironolactone but It will slow down hairloss.
Btw, you don't need to apply a lot of spironolactone. Just a thin layer in the area where you are loosing your hair. One jar lasts me over 2 months.
