Ok I was originally worrying about my hairline, till someone said to me 'getting a bit thin on top arent you???'

I laughed it off, but next morning washed hair checked in mirror at the back of my head and seen this big thinning piece of hair!!!

Ive already checked these forums becuase of my hairline, so I kind of know about treatments but I still have no idea what to do, even though ive read all FAQs etc. Im scared to use Rogaine because of storys of people having massive sheds that dont grow back, I dont really want to take pills that have potential side effects. I just want my hair back!! I keep seeing maybe 5 or 6 hairs going down the drain in the shower every morning aswell. I dont know what to do!!

The only thing ive seriously looked into is a hair transplant, but obviously costs, finding a good surgeon and travel are big barriers. My dad is totally bald with one of those strips of hair round the sides and lower back of head, his brother is the same. Only good thing is they havent gone grey :punk:

If anyone had similar fears/concerns when before starting can you please help me out? Il try and get some pics tomorrow after I wash my hair.

Thanks!

Ok. you should calm down first! Things are not completely hopeless, but it is really the hardest part to accept the fact that you are balding after becoming aware of it.

How old are you?
Forget the idea of a hair transplant. Read a bit about hairloss treatment. That is the very end of the spectrum. You don't go there first, plus you will have to take finasteride for your results to remain. It is what is advertised everywhere but even hair-surgeons tell you to use finasteride for 1-2 years prior to any operation. Sometimes you don't need an operation afterwards...

finasteride/dutasteride are your best chances at halting your hairloss and reversing it a bit. finasteride is FDA approved. There are side effects and you will read a lot about them. Read as much as you can. Take your time, make a decision and then stick with it.You'll be fine.
minoxidil is a pain to apply and you have to continue to do so. A shed is likely to happen, but it is not the evil. It will come back. If you don't use any treatments out of fear, then you can be sure that the hair you lose won't come back.

Oh, and EVERYBODY has the exact same fears/concerns and pretty much goes through the exact same process as you. We are all in the same ****ing boat my friend. Some are a bit more inside, some are almost out in the water. Good luck!

Im 26, the tides been going out gradually at the front since I was maybe 23? Crown seems to be more recent and more agressive tho.

Ok just been looking closer at the treatment page, if I had a regiem of Tricomin, revivogen and Nizoral, would that seem logical? According to the info on there that would include treatment across the board, anti inflamatory, DHT inhibitor, androgen blocker and growth stimulant. Would adding finasteride to that regiem be benficial aswell?

Only problem is its starting to sound like an expensive list...

Came across a guy whos raving about Profollica, he seems to swear by it, no side affects, totally natural ingredients and small hair re growth around 60 days! Never seen this product mentioned any where before, but he strongly advises it as a better alternative to Rogaine. Then again he is very critical of the laser comb which is promoted and recomended by this site. DDDx dont kno what to do!

And now I find out about all these side effects from finasteride and minoxidil (heart isues), surely a hair transplant is so much quicker and easier...?
