Hi everyone, I recently started minoxidil with finasteride like 5 months ago and have had very good results on my temples, I've been using 5% liquid minoxidil every morning and before bedtime but I started to notice some "minor" white flakes or skin peeling but it was very minor as mentioned so I continued hoping it would be better over time but the peeling did not stop and I sometimes pick up the pieces of skin feeling out of my scalp and notice small vellus hairs attached to it. I then started to find infos on this and saw that changing to foam based minoxidil will help with this issue so I ordered rogaine foam and started it 3 days ago and notice after bath that the flakes had worsen so much this time and that after shower there are like white layers of I'm not sure whether dead skins or minoxidil on my scalp. I grew quite alot of terminal hair from minoxidil but after rubbing all of those skin out of my scalp it is all gone and im left with only vellus hair now and It's like I waste 2-3 months of growth from all this.
My routines are:
1.minoxidil twice a day
2.shower and shampoo every morning only and Nizoral every 3 days
3. finasteride at bedtime
the picture on the left is when I noticed the increase in white skin flakes or maybe minoxidil residue? and all those hair on my temple are solely grown by minoxidil and the right one is when I removed all of them with attached picture of the flakes with all my new hair attached to them when removing.
Please help I dont even know now whether it's getting worse because changing to foam makes the old build up from liquid minoxidil starting to finally come off or that the foam is the reason.
for this.
