Short history:
- Age 27
- Slowly receding from age 21 tot 25 (Norwood 2)
- since 1,5 year aggresive hairloss (300+ hairs a day). Also diffuse thinning now.
- Tried propecia twice for 1 month (first time watery sperm, low libido), second time gyno

The present:
- Current treatment 5 months: prescription 1 mg propecia and supplements

Timeline:
Before propecia: losing 300 hairs a day, can pull out 3 hairs per grab
Month 1: Still losing 300+ hairs
Month 2: Losing 50-100 hairs, felt happy
Month 3: Losing 50-100 hairs, but noticed scalp was getting visible anyway and hairs got thinner and thinner (and miniaturized).
Month 4: Now losing 300+ hairs again
Month 5: Still losing 300+ hairs again,

Sides: None this time... no watery sperm, not lower libido, none!
Bloodtest DHT 1 dec: 0.53 nmol/l (range 0.34 - 2.87)

To me it feels like propecia 1mg is doing absolutely nothing. No extra shedding, but just normal hairloss as before. Can this be? And how come no sides third time? What can i do now?

A. Keep using propecia till 1 year mark
B. Switch to AVODART (dutasteride) after month 6-8 months
C. Other??

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

what choice do you really have though? finasteride is literally the only thing you can try if you don't want to lose your hair. Keep on it for 10 months. if things are still drastically going down hill, quit or try dutasteride. :/

I would keep using Propecia till 1 year mark and you can try lavender oil.
But you also should find a using method of Propecia like (5 days on 2 days off) or every two days.

loosing 300+ hairs its just sound like classic male pattern baldness + diffuse combo.

Gyno on finasteride, killing possibilty of no getting gyno on dutasteride.

How many body fat do you have?

Yes it is classic combo + diffuse. But finasteride does nothing...

I got gyno on finasteride 0.25mg... removed it with nolvadex.
But now i use 1.mg finasteride and now i got no sides...

I am on propecia 1mg every day. Your method means less DHT = increase hairloss?

13% body fat!!!!? For a male that is like an athlete and you got gyno? How did you measure? 13% body fat is not something you get naturally unless you lift/workout heavy with some good diet. Therefore like to know what is your workout routine, your supplements and of course your diet. The other possible way to get gyno is if you don't cycle your anabolic steroids properly. If you body fat happens to be 20+% then I'll give finasteride the benefit of doubt.

I work out a lot and the instructor measured my fat. I was 12.94% at the time (have a athletic body). I use only hair supplements and i eat normally healty with protein. I am lucky when it comes to my body genetics so i kind of looked weird that i had gyno and puffy nipples.
Its nog 2 weeks later and i am still losing my hair rapidly.

A.

It takes 10-12 month to show real results.
Its not about results for me. Its about stopping/slowing down hairloss. I have given up on mainaining or thicker/regrowth.

How many months before you noticed less shedding/stoppage of shedding?

@Sanchez1234 - i started propecia and minoxidil together. In my case, these agents never helped me grow more hair. they just helped me reduce the hair loss / slow down the shedding. I would say i saw a significant impact (as in reduction in hair loss to very very little) about 6-8 months into the regime. And before i got there, i had the shedding as well - but i was prepared for that as my Doctor had warned me that will happen.
