Please Advise Me on Building My Regimen

I've done some reading on both the main site and on these forums. I have a basic idea of what I need, but I'm finding the plethora of choices for each of the Big 4 to be pretty overwhelming. Here's some brief background:

I'm 24 and have no history of hair loss on either side of the family. I've always had a high hairline, so I've been paranoid of loss for many years. I used prescription Propecia on and off for about two years, but not regularly enough to really gauge results. I guess I can say that I didn't notice additional thinning.

My concerns have always been about my hairline. In recent months, it's been more about thinning than receding. I can say with certainty that my hair isn't as dense near the front of my hairline as the back. I don't seem to be thinning at the back of the head, but I think my scalp is a little more visible than it should be near the front. I will also say I've always had thin hair, so seeing my scalp when tussling the hair around was normal.

I've decided to not rest on the laurels that I have no family history of hair loss. I started taking Finpecia last month. But with this thinning near the front of my hairline, I want to do everything I can to preserve and perhaps regrow what's been lost over time. This means incorporating the rest of the Big 3.

Thing is, I'm not sure what to go with. I know opinions are plentiful, but could some of you chime in with which specific items from those categories I should go with? I see Nizoral is popular, so that seems like a given. What about for regrowth?

I know these things have been covered a lot, but I'm just trying to make this a little less overwhelming. Getting recommendations based on my specific situation is probably the best way to go about this. Thanks in advance, all.

Bumping this because I've added pictures.

Like I said before, I've always had a tough time telling whether I was experiencing hair loss or not because of my widow's peak, high forehead, etc. I never even considered the actual bulk of my hair; just the hairline.

Now I'm seeing that there's definite thinning in some areas. Please check out the pictures, read the first post, and advise.

I'm taking Finpecia, Biotin, just started nizoral, and am thinking I'll probably need to get on some form of minoxidil.

According to your pictures, you are losing hair.

I'm only a 'novice' myself when it comes to suggesting products and the likes. However many here will tell you to try the 'big 3' which include Nizoral, Finasteride and Minoxidil. Apparently the Minoxidil does a quicker job of regrowing your hair, however you need to constantly apply it every day to see the effect.

Read throug the "Tell your story" and "Success Stories" sub-forums, that's where i've gotten most of my information from about products. But be careful, there is a lot of information and try not to be overwhelmed like i was, because after it's hard to process.

Would there be any sense in seeing a dermatologist? Like I said, I have no family history of hair loss at all. I know that doesn't make me immune to it, but it still makes me wonder if there's a cause behind the thinning. I've already conceded that I'll probably need to use minoxidil to get any regrowth, but I didn't know whether having the dermatologist diagnosis the type of hair loss would be worth the visit.

I'm not so sure myself whether it would be worth visiting one. I haven't..but then again i guess it would be good to get a professional opinion of sorts? Since you have no family history, i guess a visit would be helpful.

Yeah your hair does look quite thin, but I wouldn't be amazed if it has just stabilized there for some time - some people's does.

Depending on how much you want to save there are a range of 5-alpha reductase (the DHT producing enzyme) inhibitors, and also a range of things to stimulate your hair follicles again. I have yet to try them myself as I only noticed my problem recently too. Oh, I also put a range of options in the 2 threads I started, so maybe that could be informative :)
