Planning on restarting propecia. Advice?

Hey all,

Over the past year I've battled hard with Propecia sides. I think I got everything in the book. But I also had amazing regrowth.

I'm finally feeling back to normal after a break from this drug, and plan on letting my body get back to normal further...However I want to keep the hair I grew and continue regrowing.

I know Propecia sides vary greatly from person to person, but I want to give it one last shot, and see if I can let my body "adjust" to the hormonal changes without losing my sex life and mental focus again.

I must admit I think it won't be any better the second time around, but for the results I get on this stuff its worth a try.

My plan is to take .5mg M/W/F and see how it goes.

Any advice? Is there anyone who's been through a similar process? Has anyone started with sides, then the sides subsided? Are my expectations even possible?

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

If you responded as well to the drug as it looks and sounds like you did - you probably have a good chance at low dose responsiveness.

Your proposed plan sounds good, but make sure you're using all components of the big three.

You have every reason to be afraid of and/or on the lookout for sides, but try not to think about them as this will likely do nothing but exacerbate any problems that do decide to show up.

Also take a good look at your lifestyle and eating habits - every little bit helps.

Best of luck, get at her boy.

I had a few attempts and I always seemed to get sides. Erectile disfunction and lack of interest.

In the end what I did is to stop reading this forum and try not to think about it. Other than the watery jiz which comes and goes, my sides went away within a few weeks.

It turned out that I generated the sides myself with my persistent worrying, reading horror stories and over analyzing.

I'm not saying it'll work for you, but it's worth a shot.

Thanks for the perspectives.

So long as I know it is possible to achieve what I want with this drug, its worth another shot.

I think I will start up with a topical finasteride solution I made.

.166mg finasteride M/W/F

Work my way up from this point.

I know I respond well to low dose because I was getting fast regrowth on .25mg ED

Best luck to you bro, I'm also trying to find a dosage that works for me, 1.25 a day was giving me some sides although nothing major. To those who talk about the flat dose response and all that, it's complete BS. At least for my body. I've felt a difference b/w 1 mg daily. 1.25 mg daily and 1.25 mg EOD. I'm thinking of dropping all the down to .25 mg daily and staying on it for life. That should be a very manageable dose.

give it a go. i tried it last year and got ridiculously watery jizz so i stopped. I also thought i got decreased libido but that was probably placebo.

i started up again 6 months ago and didn't get any sides... or so i thought. now the upper third of my left eyebrow is almost completely gone. I never noticed before upon examination i've lost a crap load of body hair as well (although that's desirable, i have way too much leg and chest hair).

kind of sucks that i have to get off the drug with no unwanted side except for eyebrow loss. but i'm not willing to lose my eyebrows.

Everyone is different, but for me there was no dose response. While quitting I tapered off the drug - my DHT was identical at .5mg and .125mg.

The one big risk I would point out is starting/stopping can be inherently risky. A good number of the guys with really bad side effects got them when re-starting. My biggest side effect has been brain fog, which I got after missing just 5 doses and then resuming treatment (definitely due to Propecia - fog started the day after dosing resumed).

Good luck.

You are right.

Im actually thinking of just giving up. I have a really slow frontal receeding, and I could pull of a heath ledger type look. Its still ugly but hey what do people expect from men, perfection?
