Pimples And Itchiness From Minoxidil, Negatives For Hair Growth?

So I can't be the only one who get pimples in their scalp and itchiness from using minoxidil (rogaine). I'm wondering if this might have negative effects on hair growth? Anyone with a solution to this problem, maybe a moisturizer?

Yeah. I've been on it for 10years and that was my experience in the beginning. I'm not sure if I ever benefited from it. I started because my dad used it and I was 20. I didn't really know what else to do. I just switched from 2x a day to 1x because I'm worried the alcohol and multiple showers a day have interfered with my natural oil production in my scalp and part of the reason I can't grow hair. I've been paying closer attention and noticing that when I apply it to a new area it's like 6 months later the hairs are weaker and don't grow as long.
