i was just wondering if you guys could look at my pics and tell me waht kind of balding I have. or what type of Norwood i am. I just got a buzz cut i did a number 1 on the sides and back and a number 3 everywhere else. i was wondering if you guys think i should stick with the buzz cut or grow it. thanks.

you got diffuse thinning. same as me. The haircut you have now is the best way to wear it, in fact, it might look a little better if you did a 2 on top and 1/2 on the sides.

hey se freak. i did consider adding spironolactone because ive heard the three work well together. but i cant afford it, this stuff is already costing me about 60 bucks every month.

Then maybe go for spironolactone instead of revivogen, or purchase Adalctone tabs and make your own spironolactone cream. It's easy.

hey. so any ideas how i get these tabs and make the spironolactone cream on my own? i noticed that spironolactone 2% is only 19 bucks on dr lee's website. i was wondering if it would be ok if i take that, or is the 5% much more effective. thanks.

thanks for the link se freak. but hey if i was to start using spironolactone, how would i alternate it. i already apply minoxidil twice a day and revivogen once a day. should i just drop minoxidil to once a day and do minoxidil revivogen and spironolactone once a day each. thanks.

Yes. That is the tricky part of using topical inhibitors.

Someone with more experience with spironolactone/rev could help you with that.

But, do not reduce minoxidil applications. minoxidil is essential for the increase in haircounts an hairweights you are obviously craving for.

Id add spironolactone 5% lotion to that if you can afford it ... wouldn't count on Revivogen alone to duplicate Propecia.

Also please add Nizoral shampoo and use once every 3 days.

It would be a worthwhile investment to get a clear digital camera that can take very focused high light pictures. It will help you keep your sanity when you start to shed.

thanks se freak and hair loss talk. i have also been using nizoral shampoo, i forgot to the mention that. as for the shedding, i have been on minoxidil and revivogen for a month now and havent really had much shedding yet. could the shedding start even after a month in?

Shedding happens on and off for the entire first 12 months for most people. Its a roller coaster. Expect it and deal with it.

I strongly urge that you get on spironolactone ...

Jimjohn asked what Norwood he was and one poster replied a NW2. While Jimjohn has not receded past a NW2 he has diffused loss in the entire Norwood 4/5 area; There is no guarantee this area wont eventually go bald.

I wont argue with those here suggesting a topical routine as an alternative to Finasteride (I know it atleast seemed to work for HairLossTalk.com) but I personally would not settle for anything less then Finasteride & Nizoral to help slow/halt any further loss and, in your case, minoxidil as well.... Though you may want to hold off on the minoxidil until you see what results Finasteride and Nizoral may give.

Finasteride can be bought VERY cheaply online in generic form (something like $30 USD for a 4 month supply) or reasonably in brandname form ($100 for a 4 month supply). Few men experience side-effects from Finasteride and Finasteride is a proven 5ar inhibitor (only other proven 5ar inhibitor is Dutasteride).

Pissing around with alternatives is fine if you cant handle Finasteride (rare) but I would never suggest a topical only routine to anyone who seriously cares about keeping their hair... Again, some men do claim success but I feel it is a more "risky" approach.
