Hi everyone,

I would really love some advice here.

I started finasteride 3 months ago and just got diagnosed with early stages of peyronie’s. I would really love some advice regarding whether or not I should stop using finasteride or if I should try treating peyronie’s while also taking finasteride.

Did you inform the diagnosing MD about your use if Fina? Peyronie's is a pretty rare but reported side of Fina.

You know that a curvature either to the left or right is very common, right?

Yes, to the left.

The curvature is only ~5%.
I also got diagnosed with peyronies in early stages. I’ve been in treatment for the past 2 months. Mine bends to left slightly now and the scar tissue is at the base on the left.
What treatment are you on?

When I hear about this side effect of finasteride I hypothesise that it could be due to the decreased spontaneous erections - they are much more important to the body than we think . Without the consistent regular blood flow you could potentially get plaque build up which leads to Peyronie’s disease. For this reason I take 5mg cialis a day .

Is your treatment working? Right now I’m just using vitamin E oil / pills and going to look into more prescriptions
Hard to tell but I’m not seeing much improvement. Next month I’ll go back to the urologist who visited me and hopefully the plaque will have shrunken a little. I’m doing ionophoresis with verapamil and a medication called fibrase + laser therapy.

Of what I've read about Peyronie's, you need to see a specialist, getting diagnosed and, depending on the severity of it go for medicated treatment or surgery. I don't think vitamin E oil and pills are the appropriate way. @JonnyGo seems to be on spot with verapamil. Best is to really check w a specialist man.

I also g
Yes but it is from scar tissue buildup. I have a node of scar tissue on the left side and it is growing.

Can i ask you gguys some questions about this.
I'm worried i;ll develop this disease

I had sex a yea ago and bruised my penis real badly. I had a bruise for a few days but that was it.
I'm worried that in the future i'll have issues ? and was wondering if finasteride will make me more prone o developing the disease.
Did you guys have injuries? how old are you ? how did it develop etc?

a local well regarded urologist told me the exact same thing, almost verbatim. He also gave me a prescription for Cialis (which I have yet to buy)

My dick has always been slightly bent as long as i can remember, i make sure to masturbate often so i know im getting good blood flow down there somewhat often as im not sure if im getting night time erections, definitely not getting random ones anymore which i see as a good thing, but i can still get erect pretty easily when needed.

You are probably referring to the natural bend that almost all have which is why I was asking them previously if that is what they are talking about. But they report scarring which is absolutely not normal. Also, long term, masturbating may not be enough to keep the smooth muscle in shape. Random erections are kinda like the maintenance schedule. So in theory you'd have to set up your alarm throughout the night and masturbate a few times a day and a few times a night.... just to keep up...

you can't take cialis every day for the rest of you life.. once you stop you won't be able to get hard rock erection by yourself without the pill. Treating a pill side effects with another pill is not the best idea

Not true - there is no generated dependance from taking any PDE5 inhibitor. I can get an erection just fine without cialis - however it makes sure there is always blood flow present to prevent build up of plaque just in case the blood flow isn't 100% in the eyes of my own body.

5mg is the daily dose. Recreational one-off doses are often 20-30mg.
