Hi!
I started finasteride in November 2024.
Topical, 0.005%, 2ml daily.
No problems until March.
My hair was growing back, but I still had headaches.
So in July, I decided to taper from 2ml to 1ml to 0.5ml to 0.25ml, and then stop.

Since September, I've had no problems except one: I started having a constant pain on my left side, near the end of my rib cage, where my intestines are. It gets worse when I eat.
I had a colonoscopy and a gastroscopy, and they told me my intestines are fine, but that I have some gastritis.

I'm living with this pain and would like to fix it.
I'm already on my diet and exercising.
But even when I'm at the gym, if I try to lift too much weight, I'll feel the pain.
I'm more than certain that things will get better with time, but I'd like to know if there's anything I can do to fix it.

its a persistant side effect and the only real solution is to stay away from alcohol entirely. No beers for you.

A muscle issue is actually pretty common around that area, especially if you’ve been lifting and maybe compensating without noticing. An MRI would definitely rule things out, but even before that, a good physio or sports chiropractor can usually identify if it’s muscular, rib-related, or something like a minor strain in the obliques.
