I'm 23 and pretty much as soon as I hit 21 I noticed my hair was receding. It was expected as my Dad is bald, but I was hoping for my Mother's Father's hair as that's still thick and he's 75 (annoying how that 'mother's side' myth is untrue).
In denial/didn't have the cash for a while and finally spoke to somebody in my hometown who owns a salon and offered Low Level Laser Therapy. Basically he offered me 15-20 minute laser treatment, once a week for £143 a month. Pricey but being desperate, I accepted.
It's been a year now and I unfortunately haven't really seen any results. I can still hide it so i'm not in a mad panic but my hair thinning has continued imo at the rate it always was. He also recommended me to take Advecia pills which i have been taking the past 2 months but again, I haven't noticed anything. I've also been told to use Matrix Moisture shampoo (http://www.matrix.com/products/total_results/moisture/) which I have been doing for past 8 months.
I've expressed my doubts to him in the past and he tells me he can see new hairs growing. There are small hairs growing but we're talking hardly anything and considering I've been on it a year, it probably works out £120 a hair.
I've been a bit of a fool as the person giving me the treatment isn't a nasty person, I think he's just a bit naive about LLLT. I've also tried to not think about it, although a little research would have led me to seeing the exact same lasercomb that he uses on me is for sale on Amazon for £329...meaning if I had bought it this time last year, I would have saved over £1,400.
Also, I looked on the Hairmax website, which instructs you to use the comb every other day for 15 mins. Which is 3 times more than what I've been receiving (15/20 mins per week)...which may be why I'm not getting any results.
I'm going to speak to him about it next time I see him, like i said I don't think he's willingly trying to rip me off, but at the same time...i still think i am.
Anyone had any similar experiences?
