People Who've Used Both Dutasteride And Finasteride, What Has Been Your Experience?

So this is just directed at people who have used both finasteride and dutasteride. I am doing a little research before I decide whether to make the switch or not. Any answers help, thanks.

1. How long were you on finasteride before switching to dutasteride? How long have you been on dutasteride?
2. Why'd you switch?
3. How did the side effects differ on finasteride vs. dutasteride?
4. Did you have results on finasteride? How'd the results differ on dutasteride?
5. Was there an initial shed when switching? How long did the shed last?

A: Two and a half years and two years 2 months on Dutasteride.
2. Why'd you switch?
A: Non responder and made hair loss much worse.
3. How did the side effects differ on finasteride vs. dutasteride?
A: I did not have side effects on either.
4. Did you have results on finasteride? How'd the results differ on dutasteride?
A: No, I regained everything except temples.
5. Was there an initial shed when switching? How long did the shed last?
A: Yes - 6 months from the start
6. Where did you get the dutasteride?
A: Rite Aid Pharmacy

Are you transgender? If so, were you transitioning when starting/taking dutasteride?

Idk man, 5ar1 is found in a lot more places than 5ar2 is, honestly that's the only thing holding me back. 5ar1 plays a huge role in the brain and I don't feel comfortable disrupting that. Plus I think you're in your 20s like me. I always think a drug like that would be need 10-12 years down the line on finasteride.

Yes I am 23, but I'm running out of time, with finasteride not stopping my loss. 10 years from now I will have no hair on my head. Dutasteride actually has a good chance of stopping it, and possible regrowth. I am hesitant messing with 5ar1 as well, but it seems that side effects are not that much more prevalent than that with finasteride, and I've had no sides with finasteride. My biggest issue with it is the long half-life of the drug, so if side effects do kick in your fucked.

i am also really hesitant . i read a lot of stdies and post . AND the best dosage would be to take 0,5 mg twice a week . It would be 1 mg duta a week . the half life would be way shorter . And the steady state would be reach in something like 6-7 month .
0,5 mg twice a week = more 5ar2 inhibition than proscar ED with less sides .

I was on finasteride for a year.
On Dutasteride for about 4 months
Finasteride caused constant shedding, itchy,peeling scalp although hair got thicker n darker.
No initial shedding when switching, no breaks just went right on dutasteride.
I have shedding here n there now..maybe like 20 hairs? Idk I'm not stressing over the shedding as before and not the scalp issues I had on finasteride.
I got my script from medical wellness center..same place I got script for my finasteride.
