I'm sure he's brought up enough on these boards (even some people's avatars)
I just finished watching all seven seasons of Star Trek TNG. I, of course, watch people's hairlines though I try not to make it an obsession.
I realized two things about Patrick Stewart's hair that make him look so good as a bald guy. First, he has blondeish colored hair. He keeps it cut VERY Short. this makes the horseshoe less noticeable. Second, he went completly bald very fast.
It just seems to me that neatness and total baldness seem to add up to something much nicer than "balding", which is what most of us have to deal with. No one in my family is truly "bald" like Stewart is. There are still too many hairs hanging onto their heads.
On a side note I noticed LaVar Burton's hairline has receded a bit in the years since ST, but nothing he should be whining about.
Johnathan Frakes, the guy who played Riker, used to have really thick great hair in his 20s that disappeared a lot by the time TNG started. Apparently he's always been VERY aware of his hairloss and has always tried to hide it--I've seen a couple of interviewes where he said he'd wear a piece before shaving it all off. If you find any current pictures of him, he's pretty thin on top, pretty much a Norwood 2.8\3 with a lot of loss over the entire top.
BTW you guys should watch this, Stewart discusses his baldness
