How come under any normal circumstances my hair will look fine, but when under sunlight and I look at the reflection I just see the norwood development that has evolved. Does the sunlight bring out the worst or is that how it really is? Just curious.

Sunlight is significantly brighter than regular light. You dont realize it when you're just going about your daily business, but try sitting in a pitch black room for a half hour then walking into direct sunlight. Your eyes will be scorched from the brightness. This is why.
