Does human male pattern baldness come from a primate ancestor? We know that primates also experience this disease and that we are descended from primates, so it makes sense that whatever reason it was fixed in the population, it would have to address primate society, not humans.
Or alternatively, may it have evolved independently and secondarily in humans?

Well that's my question, was it actually a sub human that this mutation started in? I've read people and even scientists give possible theories for the evolution/mutation that caused this disease and potential advantages in natural selection, but none of them have ever considered that the mutation may have originated in our common primate ancestor, so any hypothesis as to why the genes became fixed in the species would have to consider the primate ancestor
