Oral minoxidil UPDATE: side effects

I started taking oral minoxidil (Loxidil Forte) several months ago, in combination with dutasteride and keto shampoos.

I'm 45 y.o. and I've been battling the hair loss curse for several decades: I started going bald at the age of 17. Today, I'm still a solid NW2.

I can't say how effective oral minoxidil really is: dutasteride is my #1 treatment.

More recently, I noticed an unfortunate side effect: more body hair in my lower back. Facial hair is also thicker. This is unpleasant but was expected.

I intend to continue with this regime and hopefully add Kintor soon.

oral minxidil isnt as god as everybody says anyway... not even sure if it does regrow hair that is not anywhere but on your head...
went on 10 for a year and had body hair growing like there is no tomorrow, scalp didnt change much, if at all...
now back on 5mg and topical for two/three month and it also doesnt make a difference...

It may be luck of the draw. Damned stuff turned me into a werewolf but I can't help but be grateful.

I've been on Oral 2.5mg once a day (morning only) for a month now. Not had any side effects or shedding.
How long normally do people see thickening or even regrowth if there are lucky?
Not sure whether to increase it to 5mg (2 x 2.5mg) now or wait until 6 months if no progress?

For me RU did nothing.
Topical seems to work tho.
Now shedding and seeing a lot of velus hair
might be that at one point it is too late...
though i lost ground even being on treatments... might have stabilized by now, but i can never be sure...

Almost nobody sees im balding still. So I def cam recover. I have 0 regression and only thinning from the middle out, and then thinning all over a bit as well. (FMPH)

i am absolutely not sure sometimes, if i bought placebo, or if it works (as in would be worse if i wouldnt take it), or if it doesnt...

I have been on the foam for 10+ years ( now 47 years old) and my new dermatologist just put me on the oral tab. It is really cheap but he started me on a really low dose and said I can work up from there. Is there any harm in continuing to do the topical while on the oral as well? thanks

I use both topical and oral, as I found my crown thinned when I stopped using topical
