SO I recently buzzed my head for a hair transplant and the hair loss was much more advanced that I anticipated especially at the crown. I had taken 2-3 years off of finasteride due to side effects and to my surprise did no experience much hairless in that time even despite using steroids for about a year at low dosages. I did have some progression of thinning at the hairline, but the impact was much less dramatic than I was expecting.

Fast forward to about 2 years ago now I noticed thinning on the crown, got started on oral minoxidil 3mg, and about 1.5 years ago got started on topical finasteride again.

I got 3400 grafts, 2900 in the hairline and only 500 in the crown in April of 2026. I have taken pictures to document the progress, but will not release pictures as of yet because there is no noticeable improvement.

My protocol:
April 23: I started with 50mg Bica and 60mg raloxifine per day
May 7: I increased to 100mg Bica per day
I also use topical dutasteride 2x/per week approximately. I have to be careful with this because I can get ED from topical dutasteride if I use too much or too frequently.

In terms of side effects thus far, it's been really manageable. No gynochomastia yet. Last week I took 1mg arimidex to reduce nipple puffiness that raloxifine alone wasn't able to handle and it was very effective. Nipples went flat and tiny for about the whole week. The problem was this caused reduced libido and difficulty getting full erection. Estradiol manipulation is known to be have a much larger effect on libido and ED than testosterone manipulation - just search steroid forums and so on if this is news to you.

Overall, I have to say no real changes in mood or masculinity feeling. No gyno (yet). No feminization (yet). No increased shedding. no dupa, no major unmanageable side effects yet. My side effects from oral dutasteride years ago were much worse. It's only been 20 days now. I bought 180 tablets and if possible I'd like to complete all of them and compare my before and after. The crown and mid scalp will show the true effect as there was a lot of miniaturization, especially at the crown, and I didn't get nearly enough grafts there to make much of a cosmetic difference.

I'm hopeful that Bica can help reverse the miniaturization across the scalp, but especially on the crown, and I can maintain it with use of topical finasteride and dutasteride. I'll keep you updated, especially if this regiment is successful.
