I just got 90 more Dutas today and was thinking about using some topically along with my oral dose, has anyone tried this and what were the results? Thanks!

More people report that oral dose provides better results. The topical solution is unproven.

Thanks, I think JohnNYC has had some good results with topical Avodart, maybe I'll put this idea on the back burner for awhile, I think the oral Dutas are starting to regrow some hair now after 2 months so I'll wait and see what happens.

I strongly encourage anyone to try topical Dutasteride.

3x per week, 0.33 mg per application.

Hey John, about how long did it take for the topical Dutasteride to start regrowing your hair?

Does it mean that disolving about 40-50 pills of Avodart in 60ml minoxidil and applying this vehicle 3 times a week should be enough?

After about three months, but keep in mind I started topical keto at the same time. By 9 months, very obvious regrowth. Big shed in the last month :( but I guess that is expected...

That's about right. I use 30 pills in 45 ml of vehicle.

I just got some Keto cream with another 90 Dutas from inhouse the other day so I started using that also, before I was just using the nizoral shampoo 2% and 1% leaving it in for about a hour before shampooing. I'm pretty sure the Dutasteride is causing regrowth on my crown and back of head after 2 months but I took a loading dose of 3 pills a day for the first 10 days. I'm seriously thinking of going with the Dutasteride as a topical also seeing how you've had really good results. Hopefully your shed will lead to more regrowth with stronger hairs. :)

My concern is that I tapered off Minxo due to side effects. I was hoping that x-nazoles + bimatoprost + prox-n would be enough to compensate for stopping minoxidil.

Time will tell...

Do you know if the shedding hairs are from minoxidil? minoxidil 5% didn't regrow much hair for me.

Hard to say. 5% minoxidil did not do much for me. I switched to 15% about three years ago from Dr. Lee and seemed to get a little thickening of veluus from that, but nothing specacular. Then I started to get some serious side effects from the 15% and started to taper off. I accelerated the taper when Dr. Lee was shut down.

TBH, even the 15% minoxidil did not do much unitl I added topical dutasteride and ketoconazole to my regimen in June of last year.

Well maybe it's a Avodart shed which means the hair will come back thicker. :punk:

I pray as I was so happy with my progress. Just ordered some Fluradil to help things out...

One year plus of 15% minoxidil did not do a whole lot. This also had 0.1% finesteride (Xandrox15+). I was also using Proxiphen.

Nothing much, just a little vellus thickening, until I dropped the Proxiphen and started using topical dutasteride plus keto.

Sounds like it is a dutasteride shed which is a plus as the hair will come back thicker from what I've read. finasteride I think basically just maintains unless a person is early on in male pattern baldness then it regrows.

Did the keto cream make your scalp tender when you first started using it?

I am hoping right now its a dutasteride shed as I think the time would be right.

Keto did cause some problems, but not any more. I used bendryl cream to help with the itching.

I hope so to. The keto cream is affecting my scalp, is was kind if tender/itchy so I put on the vag cream last nite instead of the keto and it went away however thinking about it the itching may be a good sign.
