Opinions On Scalp Itchiness While Using Nizoral

Hi everyone, today I wore my hat and felt my hairline burning. I’ve been on finasteride for over 4 months so this isn’t a good sign. I strongly believe by controlling inflammation you can control shedding, and one of the best ways to do this is with nizoral, correct?

Well I stoooed using nizoral a few weeks ago because every time I had it in my hair for over a minute immy scalp would get extremely itchy. Throughout the day my scalp didn’t itch so much, but just with it on my head I’d get an extreme itch.

-Has anyone else had this?
-Would you consider it a bad sign?
-Should I stop?
-What other methods are there to control the burning/itching/inflamed scalp feeling?

Don't know about the Nizoral, but how's the finasteride treating you?
It’s not in my opinion. I’m still shedding, and I’m far below baseline. Can’t quit now though, and I’ve heard of people shedding for like 5-6 months until it stopped.

I think my shedding MAY be reducing now though

maybe you are overusing it? try to use it 2x a week. Also, did you consider using other shampoos with keto like Regenepure DR? Im using it and am too feeling a little itch while having it on for few minutes but when I wash it off its all good.

I was only using it about 2 or 3 times a week. I haven’t considered it but I might.

Did you try nizoral and chose regenepure over it?

So it’s normal to have an itch while it’s on? That’s the only time I’ll get that itch, when I wash it out it goes away immediately.

Well, Im using it for about a month 2-3 times a week. I overused it first week (used it every day lol). My hair and scalp were very dry and lifeless and I had huge shed after that (maybe it is a good sign that its working, maybe not). I feel that its completly normal to have a little itch while having it on for about a minute or two and when you wash it off, if its not itching I think its all good.
I didnt use nizoral, I went for Regenepure right away because "Somebody Alex" recommended it to me (look him up - he has a really nice results and he talks alot about inflamation and treating hair loss). It is a little more expensive but it should be a lot more friendlier towards your hair and scalp than Nizoral.

Yeah Alex is the reason I’m trying so hard to get rid of inflammation lol, that guy had insane results and bases a lot of it on getting rid of imflamation

So here’s an update, my hairline was consistently burning to the touch for about an hour ever since I took my hat off. I just took a shower and used nizoral. As soon as I got out I had absolutely 0 burn in my hairline, even to the touch.

My scalp did itch after a minute of having it in however, but it went away as soon as I rinsed it out.

If I remember, I’ll take a shower the next time my scalp is burning and use normal shampoo and report the results here.

I dunno man I still struggle with this. There is a single spot on my crown that likes to burn which really worries me. I wish it my hairline as I could handle being a nw3 but I would absolutely hate having a bald spot on my crown...

stop using nizoral 3 times a week. i did the same for months and it fucked up my hair (made it dry as hell as well as making it feel like straw). I think you should replace nizoral with one of those shampoos that contain nizoral along with other ingredients (somebody alex recommends this aswell)

I haven’t used it in weeks. I used it last night because I had some inflamation and my
scalp still itched within a minute of having it on my head. It’s definitely not from overuse.

Just thought I would throw this in. I personally had continued itch even on medication and with Ketoconazole 2% shampoo so I tried out this shampoo that helps with psoriasis, dandruff, and all of that stuff called Neutrogena T-Gel shampoo. It's like $6.00 at Walmart and works amazing. I use it every day and have no problems with scalp itch anymore. Not sure how much it will help you, but like I said, it's super cheap so it can't hurt to try.

Thanks man, might try it out
Could be an allergic reaction ?
I’m not sure though

Like I said, which I think went over some people’s heads, is that it only itched when nizoral was on my hair for over a minute. Once I rinsed it off I had no itch and didn’t have continued itch later that day either. Maybe it is an allergic reaction though, but still, when I had a burning sensation I’m my hairline, it immediately cured it. Not sure what to think
