I honestly would call this a NW2 or NW2.5 at most. NW2 with a bit of forelock thinning maybe. In the fourth picture you posted the forelock seems to be hit by some thinning but in second set of photos it looks totally fine.
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, you can definitely see the thinning more when it’s wet as it is in the first set than when it’s dry.

Thanks. It was even better 3 months ago! I know I’ve been pretty lucky so far even though I’ve battled AA on and off for 20 years. But still very freaked out about receding/thinning so much in a short time.
I can understand your position. Even though you have great hair, given your age, it's still something noticeable.

His hair's average for his age; if you can notice balding, then it's a problem you have to treat so you don't become a baldcel and the next bald joke to be treated like ***. That's why, as a NW1.5ish, I stay on this forum. Father thinks I'm completely insane. Once you're bald, you're (never) fucked for life. Simple as that.

don't listen to anyone that tells you definitive answers when it comes to response to treatment. the truth is we don't know how your body will respond and most people don't post their results on the internet for people to see. in the most amazing cases we see people who responded in 2-3 months and experienced amazing regrowth. we also have people who are on it for 2+ years and can only managed to maintain / slow down hair loss. the general consensus is to wait for 6 - 12 months and re-evaluate. stick with the big 3. in my opinion your hair does not look that bad at all.. you only start to look ridiculous once the hair on the top starts to shrink and die and become diffused
This has now happened. All the hair from my forelock to my vertex from side to side is shrinking and becoming diffused. My hairline continues to slowly retreat as well although i may notice a slight slowdown. The only thing saving me right now is that I generally keep my hair long so it is hidden. Wet you can see just how awful it’s gotten. Is this normal 5 months in? Am I having a bad reaction to finasteride? Should I try to stick it out another 7 months? My hair loss has excelerated exponentially since I started treatment.
