Did he give you a reason as to why he didn't think minoxidil was good in the long-term?

Guess i want you to go in to a little more details Bryan, and we all know you love the detail :)

I've always presumed that if i stopped i'd have a massive shed, but now i'm wondering if that would happen.

I'm not sure what you mean. I don't like to use the word "shed" or "shedding", but can there be any doubt that you'll quickly lose anything you got from topical minoxidil if you stop using it? Do I have to trot-out my "quitting-minoxidil" graphs again? :)

It's probably because Dr. Ashcroft is fully aware of the steady decline in haircounts in the long-term topical minoxidil studies. What _I_ would like to know is if Dr. Ashcroft is aware of the "offset of growth" hypothesis! :)

ive been using xandrox for 3 years now. i have nothing bad to say about it. my hair isnt as great as it was 2 years ago but the first 2 years of using it allowed me to forget about my hairloss for a while.

that said, i still am amazed when ill cut a hair or two with a scissor in the xandrox treated areas and find they progress from what looks like a knuckle hair at the end to what looks like a wire the closer i cut it to my scalp.
gotta say something unless in some areas of my scalp, my hair is magically getting fatter.

I think Bryan's right, he is aware of the decline of growth. He did not give a reason, only to say it would be interesting to experiment, but from the conversation, he seemed aware that minoxidils strength is that it provides an initial growth spurt.

I'll probably carry on using it as i'm used to applying it, and i only use it once a day now anyway, and sometimes skip days, so it's nee bother me laddies. :dunno:

The studies with minoxidil were done without finasteride. As we know, pattern baldness is progressive and unrelenting. So it is not surprising that the effects of minoxidil fade over time.

If loss is controlled or slowed with finasteride, the gains from minoxidil can be maintained much longer.

hey guys....reading this thread...

I noticed everyone quoted on Dr. Lee's #500 Minoxidil 5% and commented on the effectiveness of #500.

Has anyone not tried out his #948 Xandrox 15% Plus?

I am currently on it. Has nobody tried it out? I was hoping it would be a little more effective than the 5% stuff out there.

I know one guy....who has tried it and he's the reason I decided to go on it. And he said his hair is "effin' awesome"

so that's one point for Dr. Lee.

But this same guy is also on the finasteride stuff, also...
